Some nut saying that being denied the right to secede from the USA is like being "enslaved." He's supporting Marjorie Taylor Greene's idea of a "National Divorce."
I have to wonder, though, how much commitment to or energy for this idea do these people really have? I mean, they *Know* they'd have to get their own government and military and shit, right? Forge their own international alliances, and so on, do the work of life?
Actually, I quite suspect they don't.
Yeah, like that didn't end extremely badly.
I mean, for fuck's sake even the Taliban had to get smarter in order to win, I don't think these nuts will do that. Among other things, they're too neurotic and too privileged. I also don't think winning is what they actually want. These fucking crazies want to Kamikaze themselves to make some kind of a bullshit point that only exists in their own minds, and take the rest of us down with them.
It's impossible with these guys to be Far-Right-enough, sooner or later anybody trying to make decisions based on the reality in front of them (at any level) is going to run afoul of that.
But the thing is, I know people who are like this in real life. Yes, most of them are mentally-ill religious fanatics, but some of them have guns.
And here's the thing.
The thing is, there's a hell of a lot of people who are just straight up addicted to this bullshit. I know some of them. They're not all performative conservatives, some of them don't even identify as such. Yet I've personally observed people who stare at the TV like ADHD kids watching cartoons when Fox News is on.
Thing is, I'm very much getting the vibe that these people are going to start resorting to violence, including against each other.
I'm warning you, that "Conservatives" have looked at Vladimir Putin and what he has, including the losing war in Ukraine, and they've decided they like what they see; The authoritarian neo-communism, the cruelty, the re-Sovietization of Russia, the million or so refugees from Russia alone (and many times that in or from Ukraine) and the whole bit.
I encountered this dude on Twitter over the weekend, nothing in his entire timeline but violent hatred for LGBT people, liberals and non-Christians, and interacting with alleged people that are mostly the same.
I say alleged for a reason.
Actually, given the follower-counts and other assorted data I quite suspect the whole timeline and this account itself are nothing but bots all jacking each other off.
There's a reason the Russians or whoever can get away with posting this kind of shit. There's people out there who legitimately believe in this kind of garbage. You can find them in any given comments section, or Twitter feed.
And you can start with people from the Republican Base like Boebert or MTG that actually believe some levels of this kind of horse shit. Not that they wouldn't find themselves targeted too.
There's probably not as many of these people as it looks like, not here, anyway. But it's important to remember that this authoritarian cosplay-hyper-religious-right-wing bullshit is a global movement...and one with its epicenter in Moscow, at that.
They might not have enough people...at least not of military age in the proper shape to fight...for a civil war but they sure have enough for domestic terrorism, and a right-wing insurgency. And they'll certainly be supported from elsewhere, starting with the Russians.
Not sure the Russians know what they're dealing with here, either. Fuck, I'm no longer sure the Commies are smart enough to care.
Over the weekend I found out that Rupert Murdoch was deposed in court and admitted under oath that everybody at Fox News from him on down, including Laura, Tucker, and the whole gang knew the Big Lie was a lie and that Trump lost and they still kept pushing that shit for money and ratings.
It seems to be, in fact, leaking out that most of the bullshit is, indeed, bullshit.
But I'm here to tell you that most of the nuts who are addicted to this crap won't care.
In fact, they'll just "rationalize" (Yes, I know this usage is a perversion of that word) and say that the Deep State got to the Fox News people, or something.
Yeah, some people are the bad-faith types for whom it's all a big game. I get that. But that's not everybody. There's a lot of fanatics that really believe this shit, and some of them are quite violent.
Some of them really do wanna go out and fight somebody over this crap. I'm serious.
It's like they get a high off it.
And many of them will move on to stronger drugs sooner or later, if they haven't already.
I also saw today that a group of Trump Supporters protested a book store where Ron! (Endorsed by Jeb!) DeSantis was doing a book signing. A cop and a few security guards came out and asked them to leave, I'm not quite sure how that went.
Let them fight, I say.
These people keep sowing the wind, for fun and profit, winding up the mob. Sooner or later, somebody's going to reap the whirlwind.
They don't even want Trump. They want somebody like Putin. They want the ethnic cleansing and war and shit.
And they're winding up for a full-fledged Jihad against LGBT people.
The Evangelicals are still mad as hell, apparently, that they lost that fight politically and socially.
It's stuff like this that makes me say the current Republican Jihad against transgender people is nothing but a wedge issue to try and make it so they can go after everybody else, too.
Otherwise, it simply makes no sense.
And if they can't get the State to go along, sooner or later these nuts are going to take matters into their own hands. No, they don't care what they're starting or taking upon themselves. They think consequences and PTSD only happen to other people.
And they're mad as hell that the Ukrainians fought back, especially as successfully as they did, and that the world has rallied against Russia and, by extension, against the autocratic, authoritarian tide that Republicans and the rest of These Fucking People are a part of.
Here's the thing; The only thing that's going to save Putin at this point is his American and other Western fifth columns, far-right nuts and far-left Tankies and shit. Ultimately, they don't care if Putin wins or they win, because the cruelty and violence is itself the end-goal for a hell of a lot of these fucking people. A lot of them really are just Lost and they've absorbed enough fascist propaganda and hate to think that they can kill their way into some kind of perfected, transcendent state.
And whether it's religion or secular Republicanism or whatever that's their reason for it, it's just an excuse.
Whether this was the end goal or simply an unwelcome byproduct of constant rage-farming by "Conservative" elites like Rupert Murdoch and Tucker Carlson, I don't know.
I do know that the mob they've ginned up will see their admissions of lying as treason or weakness and likely turn against them, as well.
Because there's no such thing as "Conservative" enough, there never will be. These idiots always have to have some enemy to fight, or to imagine fighting, or to rage against.
Sooner or later, this pot's going to stop simmering and boil like a motherfucker.
And the rest of us need to be ready, soon, I think.
