And I'm sorry, but I'm tired of this creepy deification of Donald Trump now that he faces the real possibility of charges.
The motherfucker ain't Jesus.
Trump isn't even religious. He said himself that he didn't need to ask God for forgiveness. I saw that shit live on CNN in the summer of 2015 while I was standing in the living room talking to my roommate after we'd just gotten home from work.
My roommate at the time was an African-American Baptist, a deacon in his brother's church.
We were both shocked. Speaking as a former conservative, I don't know how it didn't end right there.
But it's more than that. I'm an ex-Christian myself, with an extensive church background and actual theological training on top of a hell of a lot of study of this stuff on my own time...not only in terms of Christian theology but of religion in general. I know the Word...much of it right off the top of my head. When I saw this Tweet, Psalm 91 sprang into my mind unbidden.
I can still, after all these years, crank out a decent Christian apologetic if I need to!
I've also studied Buddhism, Gnostic Christianity, Islam, Judaism and various forms of Paganism and Wicca. For fuck's sake, I've even studied LaVeyan Satanism. (As much because I dated an actual Satanist as out of general curiosity once I found out about some of its teachings.)
I'm fucking sorry, but if Donald Trump is your God...or is someone you equate with being a divine or religious figure of any sort...you need to go home and rethink your life.
Donald Trump literally has spent his life treating breaking the Ten Commandments and practicing the Seven Deadly Sins as if it was some kind of a to-do list.
There is no kinder way to put it.
Dude never even played at being religious until he started running for President. So far as I can tell the motherfucker doesn't even believe in God.
And so far as I understand it, that's not even a real picture of Trump, just his head photoshopped onto somebody else's body.

And for those who think Trump is going to somehow usher in the End Times?
People, I was a member of the End Times Prophecy Movement in the late 1990's. Y'all are basically saying "Trump is the Antichrist" and demanding that everyone follow him.
Okay, that's technically Biblical but it clearly puts you very clearly on the wrong side.
I know you don't care. Far too many "Conservatives" have kicked Jesus out of his own End Times narrative and replaced Him with conspiracy theories and antivax woo, among other absolute nonsense.
The truth is that Trump is an irreligious, politically reactionary traitor with no real belief in conservatism nor allegiance to this country, who tried to overthrow the government and replace it with himself, and who has not only acted in the interests of Vladimir Putin and other foreign despots, but likely continues to do so.
Donald Trump is a false Christ, just like the Gospel of Matthew said there would be.
Those who try to deify him are false prophets. This isn't me talking, this is what the Lord's Word says.
No amount of trying to turn Trump into some kind of religious figure is ever going to change the fact that he's nothing of the sort, that he never has been, and that he historically has engaged in behavior and represented things that spit on everything Jesus Christ ever stood for.
Unless, possibly your real religion is the Cult of Dis Pater, a chthonic Roman deity of death and wealth that Christian Tradition has defined as a demon since at least Dante's Inferno if not before.
