The Sidewalk Chalk Revolution

I saw this earlier.

And I'm a tell you something.

I'm goddamned sick and tired of "Conservatives" and Republicans piously proclaiming anyone who dissents from-let's get real, whatever their current bullshit is-"Communists," "Leftists," "Mobs," "Thugs" and so on. 

Our revolution literally started with a mob, and the Boston Massacre. Crispus Attucks, a Black man, was its first martyr. One of our first organized revolutionary acts, the Boston Tea Party, was literally a mob destroying the property of a monopolistic corporation.

Yeah, easy to see who's side Joshua, 1st Baron Hawley, would have been on, isn't it?

Same with most Republicans. These people don't want to live in America. Maybe they never did.

People don't agree with you, or have different ideas. That's not an attack on you personally. This is America, in the 21st century. If you can't stand the heat stay the hell out of the fucking kitchen, don't be in public life. Go be a preacher or a small-business person or what the fuck ever where what you say goes. 

People this fragile have no business being in public life, in this country or any other.

These fucking people's moronic assumption is that they're somehow the "default" that White, Conservative Republicans who are roughly a third of all Americans are somehow the baseline of all of Humanity rather than something like maybe 1% of the population of the whole damn world.

And I'm sorry, but all that these motherfuckers want to do is steal. I don't give a shit how "conservative" they pretend to be in public, I don't give a damn how religious they act, I don't give a flying flaming fuck about the suits they wear or  the Norman Rockwell image Josh Motherfucking Hawley tries to present by kissing his wife like they're a couple of ten year old kids. 

Dude, grow the fuck up, nobody buys it, especially given your creepy interest in child pornography that you talked too much about during the KBJ hearings.

First off, this son of a bitch believes that the entire concept of individuality is some kind of a Christian heresy and he cites some obscure Dark Ages hermit as having originated it. That in and of itself should be disqualifying for any position of leadership in this damn country and I don't give a fuck.

Second, what this dude is proposing, in the name of "Punishing" Disney is literally mass theft of copyright and intellectual property from everybody in the United States of America and I seem to remember the Word saying something about "Thou Shalt Not Steal." I happen to have a few things I've copyrighted, gaming stuff from going on 20 years ago that I had on my own website when I had one. I think I got maybe $40 off it all and it hasn't been online since I took the site down in 2008. I don't care, it's mine. Some pissant like Josh Hawley can have that shit over my dead body. Fuck him. Motherfucker.

And it's the same with people like Sam Alito and his bizarre citing of Matthew Hale, a pre-Enlightenment Colonial-era legal theorist, for a modern legal decision. Bitch, no, America didn't exist for 63 more years after that motherfucker died and he has as much business being cited in an American legal decision and the Old Testament does. Fuck you.

I'm tired of these people, I'm tired of their bullshit entitlement and their wannabe-fascism...when most of these fucking people, never having been or lived anywhere other than here, would cringe at, say, how they behead people in "Chop Chop Square" in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Even the most "Conservative" American would instinctively call that barbaric...and rightly so. 

And there's actually a reason for that, if you think about it.

I've been to Saudi Arabia, and known many people from there. Funny thing, but a lot of those people wanted nothing more than to leave their own country. I think there's a reason for that, too.

But the thing is, are America's 21st Century wannabe Dark Ages Barbarians or wannabe Fascist murderers any different? They certainly would make America a place most people want to leave.

Either we're a modern, 21st Century, First World nation or we're not. We cannot be that, and act as many of us...especially the so-called "Conservatives" who seem not to care worth a damn about conserving the civilization given us by our ancestors. 

I was taught conservatism was supposed to be about revealed truth and the wisdom of our ancestors, slower change, to try to prevent unintended consequences...but change comes no matter what. You don't have to like it, but it does.

Modern Republicanism is about anything and everything but that, just like it seems to be about any and every flag but the American flag or that of any other civilized nation. The Hammer And Sickle, the Stars And Bars, the Swastika...if it has to do with racism or totalitarianism that's what the fuck they want.

And they would rather burn America down than see a Black person or a Gay person or a woman of any race or sexuality get a real slice of America, much less a seat at the table. And I'm tired of this bullshit and I say that as an old white dude. Fuck these motherfuckers.

And worse, they've allied themselves...in the case of some of these "Conservatives" fervently so...with their historical enemies from across the sea, in blind worship of a man dedicated to rebuilding the Soviet Union...which no less of a conservative demigod than Ronald Reagan called the "Evil Empire" and Reagan was not wrong in this. 

We are only fortunate that the modern incarnation of the Soviet Union can't fight, or maintain its armies, and is mired in a slugfest of a war in Ukraine that they're increasingly likely to lose.

Increasingly all this "Conservative" bullshit from their political rat-fucking to the specter of Roe Vs. Wade repeal...to the sweeping losses by the Tories in the UK's local elections last week...feels like some kind of Hail Mary to save an Authoritarian Project in which all expected reliable, steady Russian assistance.

And with or without the Russians, these fucking "Conservative" ninnies are so goddamned fragile they cannot even handle the least bit of dissent, as if being forced to look upon the "Proletarians" much less read our opinions in Sidewalk-Chalk is too much for their delicate sensibilities to bear. Call it the Sidewalk Chalk Revolution, I guess.

These motherfuckers ain't fit to hold Ronald Reagan's cowboy hat while he takes a leak. And yet they will go down in history as his legacy...because he let the Religious Right, which is the source of a lot of this petty authoritarianism...into the Republican coalition. And I liked Reagan, but historically he deserves every bit of the scorn he gets for that shit.

And the thing is, as I've said for years, the problem with these fuckers is every last one of them thinks they're going to be king. That's the legacy of libertarian Reaganite conservatism, though I don't think the Gipper would have wished that to be so.

You know, everybody wants to be this gilded fool: I guess Prince Charles gave the Queen's Speech this year, and he sits there looking like he has no idea what the fuck is even going on.

What's even the goddamned point, really?

These fucking people, be they American Conservatives or British Royals, have had the chance to face up to the 21st Century, to meet its challenges head-on, and they have overall declined to do so, maliciously, spitefully, as if it's beneath them to even have to see the possibility.

The British royals seem stuck in 1953, and I think back to when all the crazy bullshit was going on and I think it's no wonder Prince Harry always looked like he'd rather be in the cockpit of an Apache, and of course Meghan seems like she prefers doing stuff to just being. Charles, not so much.

And Republicans not so much, either...but their ideals, if you want to call them that, aren't even fucking American at this point. They'd rather reach back to some Dark Ages horse shit than preserve the revolutionary spirit that brought America to this point nor the struggles for equality and freedom, ongoing since our own founding as a rebel force...that have given our nation its character. 

Instead, Republicans would rather be the old weirdo in the golden chair, or the Witch-burning colonial preacher.

Yeah, that's literally the whole goddamned reason for our country to even exist, Republicans.

As for the peace that we would preserve, I wonder who among us would like to approach the wife or mother whose husband or son has died in South Vietnam and ask them if they think this is a peace that should be maintained indefinitely. Do they mean peace, or do they mean we just want to be left in peace? There can be no real peace while one American is dying some place in the world for the rest of us. We're at war with the most dangerous enemy that has ever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars, and it's been said if we lose that war, and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening. Well I think it's time we ask ourselves if we still know the freedoms that were intended for us by the Founding Fathers. ~Ronald Reagan
