American Idols.

I saw this earlier today.

Somebody figured out who another of those idiots heckling protesters by the church door was. No surprises, either. Some 20 year old loser who wouldn't know the first thing about having a kid.

Bunch of fakes, losers and wannabes from the look of them, and I knew that before I'd even seen this bit. They can't even be bothered with the golden idol of Donald Trump, their Golden Idol is nothing more than a gilded phallus, mostly their own.

Catholics better get to cleaning house, if you ask me. 

But of course, while most of the Church is against this kind of shit there's a certain segment of American "Conservative" Catholicism that can't get enough of this culture war Jihadist Loco Haram bullshit. I know somebody that went down this rabbit hole and effectively destroyed themselves, because they forgot just who their bros were and that we might have issues with somebody ranting about beheading people and saying things like that the Russians were a holy people, and this was before all this crazy shit started...summer of 2015 to be exact. 

I distinctly remember asking, right smack in the middle of our Facebook Veteran's group "What the hell is 'Catholic' about any of this?" 

Dude was an early Stan for Trump, when almost nobody else was. He more or less became a disciple of Scott Adams, and ended up taking some hits to his business because of his strange behavior and selling his company to, and then working for a Russian company and I can't even imagine how that's going right about now.

It's 2022, and we still have Americans who think other Americans should be slaves, or that we should behead people in the streets like this is 1990's Afghanistan. Think about that for a second.

And then other "Conservatives" have the balls to talk shit about the Afghans like they didn't defeat two major superpowers within less than the span of my own lifetime?

Why? Because those often-illiterate people, in a country where even the literate often deem it enough to be able to read the Holy Quran, possess and hold close to their hearts a stubborn religious faith that makes the pretend-religiosity of American Evangelical "Conservatives" seem like Randian Objectivism by comparison. 

Yes,  the Afghans in general can fight reasonably well, but that wasn't what turned the trick. What was, is that they never give up. They never quit, and quite likely they never will. We Americans can't even understand that, and the reason we lost basically boils down to that we didn't try, and it's hard to fight what you don't understand.

Because too many of us would rather simply proclaim ourselves superior for the color of our skin and what hangs between our legs. And by definition, when you do that, you stop reaching for the stars. Why bother, when one believes they are the pinnacle of all Creation for no better reason than their own arrogance? This is the truth of American idolatry, right here.

Modern Republicans believe that there is nothing more holy than the Gospel Of Whatever Lets Them Sleep Through The Night. Their entire bit is based on bigotry, conspiracy theories and lies. At least Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush...and even George W. Bush, for the most part, called on us to believe in something higher than ourselves.

Republicans call no Man to bow down to anything more than an idol of his own erect penis...and wish nobody else got to play, like at all.

And fundamentally, that's why Republicans...and America, when it goes by their mentality...lose.

A Muslim friend of mine from when I was in college had the following as his E-mail signature for many years: 

"The shortest distance between a problem and its solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. If you bow down to Allah, you can stand up to anything."

And you know, at its best, I've seen Christianity be like that. But the truth is simple, Man makes it complicated because he does not want to obey.

And the simple truth is that everyone deserves freedom and their rights, and what they do with that is between them and their God...or their own conscience if they don't Believe.

That's supposed to be the whole damned point of America. This White Male Supremacy crap ain't it.

On A Personal Note: I just started a new job, so adjust your expectations accordingly. I might or might not be writing as much, but I'm glad I was able to put this time in since November or so, writing more often than not. Y'all be good.
