I keep seeing this the last couple days: "Domestic supply of infants." As if babies is somehow a thing we're running out of. As if kids are some kind of fungible goddamned resource rather than people.
And this, this right here? That's exactly the goddamned future that These Fucking People want. As if there's really that many straight white Christian couples looking to adopt? There isn't. I've known few enough straight white couples who ever did so. Most of the families that I'm aware of that have adopted are gay couples, and I know that's not what Alito and Amy Coat-Hangers are talking about.
And let me tell you something else. These are kids, human beings, not pets.
And these fucking "Conservatives" are treating them like a fungible resource, like they're baby ferrets or something. Well, I'm a tell you something. I did ferret rescue for seven years and I took in a lot of older weasels who's people got rid of them because they weren't small and cute and easy to control anymore. When they get bigger and sleep all the time and have vet bills and escape from the play-pen it's not as much fun. And then they start Googling "Ferret Rescues."
And I gave a lot of ferrets a decent life. But you have to expect there's going to be elderly, sick ferrets found in boxes too. Sometimes all you can do is make whatever time they have left as good as you can.
If you think the commodification of kids by "Conservatives" for bullshit ideological reasons would go any better, well, you're wrong. If all this garbage goes through and Congress and public pressure don't step up; we'd best get used to the idea of abandoned kids and sick stories on the news that are a lot worse than we have already. These people's concern is profit, and if they have to legalize outright human trafficking to get it, they're fine with that. These people are Christians like I'm a damn toaster oven.
And it's not like there aren't already hundreds of thousands of kids in the system and nearly as many horror stories. But these radical Catholic sons of bitches don't care about that.
Worse, If they can't commodify kids and sell them, they'll turn them into child soldiers when they get big enough. Along the way of Alito's reasoning and that of the Knights Of Malta and Opus Dei lie Crusades and Wars of Religion such as would make the ongoing slugfest in Ukraine seem like peacekeeping in Cyprus by comparison. And those wars will need cannon fodder.

Saw this post form a librarian dealing with an angry nut yesterday who accused the staff of being Democrats and stormed out...because they were all wearing glasses.
These fucking people are dangerously close to becoming the Khmer Rouge. During Pol Pot's rule in Cambodia, eyeglasses were seen as a sign that someone was "Intellectual" or "Western" and they would be killed.
And this is how much respect for civil rights, Constitutional rights or freedom of the press these fucking people have. Here's Kayleigh McEnany, the Trump administration's last press secretary, trying to say protesting is "illegal activity" because she's mad that people are protesting Catholic churches and SCOTUS.
Bitch, the Church isn't part of the State, per the same Amendment that says freedoms of assembly and speech are guaranteed.
These fucking people are zero-sum authoritarians who think they should get everything and everybody else should either be their slaves or just die.
They shouldn't be allowed anywhere near government...or kids.
And their high-fashion, slickly-packaged vapid "News" programs that market this shit should be taken no more seriously than the Putinist neo-Communist propaganda that they very often are just a repackaged version of with a pretty lady in a nice dress or an old guy in a nice suit to appeal to American tastes, rather than some screaming Russian fanatic.
It's the same shit, and it's all geared towards the same goal, making genocide, human trafficking, jihadist religion and unending war for profit "acceptable" to the rural Russian peasants and home-owning white Republican suburbanites these fucking people see as the cores of their societies. They literally do not give a shit about anybody else's life.
And they'll lie, move the goalposts and say anything they have to, to try and keep anybody who might punch them in the face for it complacent, distracted and mollified until they can shoot them in the back.
And I'm going to be honest, I think the reason they're doing all this crazy shit now and overreaching this badly, even though they know they'll almost certainly pay a price for it in the midterm elections is because these fucking people are in bed with the goddamned Russians.
Whether it's active cooperation or simple syncronicity I don't know, but it looks suspicious to me.
You ever notice Josh Hawley keeps getting caught talking like a goddamned Communist? Or perhaps more properly like this new Putinist Russian Fascism is his thing?
These fucking people literally don't want to live in America anymore.
And the time is coming, I think, when they're going to realize that most people are against them and simply try to break off a piece of this country for themselves somewhere where they have more control.
But of course the problem with that is they'll just go kinetic with their culture war shit and try to take over the rest of the country with armed force, because they're watching what the Russians are doing and they see that sending thousands of semi-literate, under-trained conscripts against a trained modern army will still net them some territory and they can still abuse the shit out of the civilian population. It's not much of a strategy really, as the Russians military performance suggest. But if cruelty is your goal, rather than actual success, it's a fucking genius plan.
So of course, Republicans will have to try it at some point.
They don't really care that it's not working very well for their Russian bros. The whole idea is to burn civilization down so they can squat in the ashes, peer suspiciously out the firing ports of their bunkers and shit on their own shoes...and hope when somebody gets it together enough to build a castle and be king, either it's them or they can stab him in the back and take over.
And I'm here to tell you there's nobody these fucking people have more contempt for than actual conservatives who believe in the American experiment as it is or ever has been.
They don't even want America. They want the Killing Fields of Khmer Rouge Cambodia...but with an Applebee's, a gaudy cathedral, a golf course and a mall.
And they want to take away your freedom and your money and your rights and give it all to their shitty selfish zero-sum little god, and then fight endless religious wars on a for-profit basis using your kids...wanted or otherwise...as bought-and-paid for cannon fodder with overpriced weapons that don't work half the time, for political elites who do nothing but play backstabbing rat-fuck-your-buddy political games all day and "defense" contractors whose only goal is to prolong the wars and thus their profits.
And that'll exist, mind you, solely to distract the public from the fact that it's being secretly ruled by nobles and priests who swear vows of "Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience" but live in opulent splendor anyway while they secretly pay million-dollar settlements to the victims of sexual abuse by their priestly class.
And too much of the Republican voter base won't care, as long as they get to kill somebody for being educated or wearing eyeglasses before they die.
Vote these fuckers out, all of them. Vote like your life depends on it, because it does.
And when they lose politically, they will come at you with a gun. They've been jerking off to that idea since November of 2020.
Be prepared to defend yourself. These people re fanatics and they don't care about anything.
