They don't want leadership, as I've said about other people, like Grover Norquist, they want an auto-pen with an ego that they can flatter or insert the bribe money in the slot and get what they think they want.
The Constitution doesn't mean anything to them, nor is what America is or was intended to be anything more than an inconvenience to what they think they want. These assholes would frame voting to give up your freedom as "freedom" out of sheer stupid ideological greed.
Words have to mean something, and the Word of individual people has to be good.
If you say "I'm a conservative" there is a specific meaning that's supposed to go with that: Things As They Are. (And it's supposed to be that way whether one likes the status quo or not. It's called pragmatism, and working in good faith for change. That's what Reagan and the Bushes stood for.)
Things as they are, whether we like it or not...and people like The Gipper or Daddy or W. Bush didn't expect to always be agreed with...let alone liked; because there's supposed to be a higher calling than whatever feels good right now or jacks off somebody's narcissism.
Not "Things as I would wish them to be."
Not "I get to endlessly spite, and ultimately kill, all my mostly-imagined enemies."Not "I'm just a paranoid, stupid fanatic who's searching for an endless emotional ejaculation."
And believe me, there's worse things I could say, but I think most of them are implied in those three.
And unfortunately the aforementioned conservatives of yore did to some extent perpetuate the Nixonian machine, and worse, Reagan in particular let the Evangelicals into the Republican coalition as an open force, which outweighs any good he did.
There's going to come a time where the paranoid religiosity, spittle-flecked hate and utter fanaticism that's causing this bullshit is going to have to be classified as no less of a threat to America than the Radical Islam of Al Qaeda and the Taliban or the soulless Communism of the Soviet Union and Vladimir Putin's re-Sovietized Russia.
There's going to come a time when people like Matt Shea and Mike Flynn are in the dock, if not for treason now, it'll be for War Crimes later, don't say I didn't warn you. You cannot reason with people who've decided (based on bullshit 'cause that's what this kind of religiosity is) that you don't have a right to exist.
And that's what Junior's paranoid rambling is, excuses for that shit.
And here's the thing; Most of this shit is itself a scam.
I mean, as far as they're concerned, if they get to kill off all the people they don't like, great.
But it's really about winding up the mob, getting it to donate a bunch of money and then cashing out.
Mike Flynn, of all people, should know the risks here...but in his hubris he thinks he can beat...the very armed services that caught on to him being a complete fraud who got promoted above his ability level and fired his ass? (In fact, I think "Getting Even" for that is mostly what this shit is about.)
Yeah, I doubt it. If Flynn really was that guy he'd have been competent enough that wouldn't have got shit-canned in the first place, but here he is; proving that his Word was worth jack shit the whole time.
(Why Trump thinks Flynn wouldn't betray him out of spite too, I have no idea.)

Trump's going Public with Truth Social turned out to be exactly the Pump And Dump, Rug-pull scam I said it was *Checks Notes* Five Days Ago.
Only thing is, it fell apart so quickly that I suspect nobody could cash out in time.
So Donald Trump's ego and financial problems basically just ate that money.
It was a Meme stock.
And Republicans have made it a mark of Partisan loyalty to suffer through the whole thing, while feeding it money, for no better reason than Donald Trump lets them be their worst possible selves.
I'm a put it this way; Either you value your own freedom and your own life enough to fight for it, or you don't.
And These Fucking People are promising a bloodbath whether they win or lose.
So first we have to vote them out, then we have to fight them off.
It's a game to a lot of them, but they wanna make their game of choice be Russian Roulette...on a national scale.
That's what our founders gave us the Constitution to prevent.
Because they knew populism was a threat and they feared a political movement metaphorically blowing its own brains out...but still literally being alive and having the power to vote and install the vicissitudes of the Mob in Power.
And that's exactly what this is.
It's what "Conservatives" wanted it to be.
We can't let them Define Democracy Down.
You can either be a Mark or a Citizen. Keep being one long enough, and you'll lose the other.
Our Founders knew that, why don't we??
