The Devil Went Down To Georgia (Indictments, Again, One.)

The devil went down to Georgia, he was lookin' for a soul to stealHe was in a bind 'cause he was way behindAnd he was willing to make a deal

When he came across this young man sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hotAnd the devil jumped up on a hickory stumpAnd said, "boy, let me tell you what"
"I guess you didn't know it but I'm a fiddle player tooAnd if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with youNow you play a pretty good fiddle, boyBut give the devil his dueI'll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul'Cause I think I'm better than you"
The boy said, "my name's Johnny and it might be a sinBut I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret'Cause I'm the best there's ever been"
Johnny, rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard'Cause Hell's broke loose in Georgia, and the devil deals the cardsAnd if you win, you get this shiny fiddle made of goldBut if you lose, the devil gets your soul
The devil opened up his case and he said, "I'll start this show"And fire flew from his fingertips as he rosined up his bowAnd he pulled the bow across the stringsAnd it made an evil hissThen a band of demons joined inAnd it sounded something like this...
~The Devil Went Down To Georgia, Charlie Daniels Band.
Last night, Trump was indicted for a fourth time...this time, in Georgia.

...

Goddamn, but that's a pretty sunset in the header photo. But I digress...

...

But it's not just Trump, eighteen of the usual suspects were indicted right along with him.

I have no sympathy. Fuck these people.

I also have heard that there were at least thirty unindicted co-conspirators. Meaning that thirty people flipped on these motherfuckers.

Now, given Trump's unrepentant mobster style and "Snitches Get Stitches" attitude, What the fuck?
I'm going to guess he really sucks at this.

I mean, how shitty at this do these fucking people have to be at this for thirty or more of their bros to just be like "Fuck it" and rat them out to the state??

I'm going to guess the state's case is just that fucking solid at this point that nobody figured they could sleaze their way out of it.

At least, not without ratting out all the other guys, first.

Among other things, I find it interesting that RICO statutes were invoked here...ironically, also against Rudy Giuliani, who pioneered using the Racketeering Influence and Corruption laws against the Mafia in the 1980's when he was still a real no-shit lawyer.

I thought "So this is how Idiocracy dies, between a crematorium and a Dildo shop" when Rudy gave his infamous Four Seasons landscaping press conference.

It turns out, Idiocracy may suffer fates way worse than death in a Georgia prison shower-room. Actually, I could more likely see a weird freak like Rudy being rejected by the old guys in the prison butt-rape gang and then wondering what the hell happened.

I still, after all this time don't understand it. Modern "Conservatism" takes people, including those who could have been or even once were something great, and turns them into far less than the sum total of their parts, and then it gets them to revel in their own debasement and self-destruction.

And all this for people who are pathologically incapable of giving a shit about you, Rudy. Why??

What's even the damned point??

How do you go from being America's Mayor and having a no-shit shot at the Presidency or some high-level appointment in your own right and having nerd-culture acknowledge this (and I'm not kidding, in the Max Brooks novel World War Z it's hinted at that Rudy is the Attorney General) to very likely, going to prison for Donald Trump??

But MAGA as a movement and the Republican Party are full of crazy people who want to burn down America for Donald Trump, sell us out to the Russians, and/or start a civil war that anybody with the slightest grasp of reality says they won't win. They literally seem to want to appoint themselves Slaves Of The Caesars because they think it'll hurt Black people or make Liberals mad...or something.

Here's the thing, guys, being a better class of slaves than some of the other slaves don't make you free.

A higher relative-status is not the same as freedom. Nor is it somehow better because you have it and somebody else doesn't.

That just makes you both subject to even more pernicious forms of slavery. African American slaves throughout our antebellum history escaped, resisted Power as best they could, etc. You fuckers signing onto this shit hand over your freedom voluntarily, for nothing, to men who don't give a shit about you

In effect, worshiping the Devil because you thought the Sermon on the Mount was "Liberal Talking Points" just means you go to hell. You don't get to take somebody else with you out of cruelty. You have no control over what's in somebody else's soul...and you don't get to decide shit like that in any case.

You either believe in America or you don't.

You either believe in God or you don't.

You don't get to pick and choose half-measures out of convenience.

You can appoint Trump your "god" all you want. That don't make him a god.

Worshiping a Man...especially a man like Donald Trump?

That's how you go to hell, and I have no sympathy whatever.

Слава Україна!

We have too many men of science, too few men of God. We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon On The Mount. The world has achieved brilliance without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than we know about peace, more about killing than we know about living. ~General Omar Bradley

There's a man goin' 'round takin' names
And he decides who to free and who to blame
Everybody won't be treated all the same
There'll be a golden ladder reaching down
When the man comes around
The hairs on your arm will stand up
At the terror in each sip and in each sup
Will you partake of that last offered cup
Or disappear into the potter's ground?
When the man comes around
Hear the trumpets hear the pipers
One hundred million angels singin'
Multitudes are marchin' to the big kettledrum
Voices callin', voices cryin'
Some are born and some are dyin'
It's alpha and omega's kingdom come
And the whirlwind is in the thorn tree
The virgins are all trimming their wicks
The whirlwind is in the thorn tree
It's hard for thee to kick against the pricks ~Johnny Cash, The Man Comes Around
