Catholics, Lies, And Pride Night (Pride Month, Ten.)

I saw this a little bit ago.

Some TPUSA Goofus trying to make it sound like nobody showed up for the Dodgers game because it was Pride Night, or because of the Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence...or something.

Except I've been to Dodgers Stadium and knew right off the top of my head that this had to be way before the game, and this was helpfully pointed out by somebody a bit further down in the comments.

Remember, folks, the Lord don't like liars.

But of course these fucking people think they're above such petty demands as "Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor."

I only spent most of my life as a Christian, I mean, what the fuck do I know?

And I find it funny how for all these "Conservatives" there's no cause so righteous, no thing so valued, that they will not simply lie about it out of hand. Lie for basically no reason. 

I swear it's what these people do now and it make me ashamed I ever was a conservative...or a Catholic for that matter.

'Cause here's the stadium a few innings in, and it was a sold-out game.

All these right-wing Catholic goons are nothing but a bunch of big fat liars and you can tell 'em I said so.

And you know, the funny part is, the rest of the world...much less the Vatican...by definition cannot be onboard with all this MAGA-Catholicism lying bullshit.

I wonder if it even occurs to these shitheads that the majority of the world's Catholics are not white, much less American-style "Conservatives."

I mean, shit, the far-right Sedevacantist horseshit that's so popular with these motherfuckers right now was started by a guy named Ngo Dinh Thuc, Archbishop of Hue in Vietnam, and brother of the late dictator Ngo Dinh Diem...who was overthrown and assassinated by his own generals in a CIA and US military backed coup in 1963.

And eventually when the money ran out or whatever, Thuc went begging hat in hand back to the Hierarchy and repented and shit.

They won't even be able to do very much white supremacist BS in their idea of a dream religion, because most of its slapdash hierarchy outside of the United States ain't White.

Sooner or later there's going to be a schism between the American right-wing Catholics and the rest of the Church...including other American Catholics.

And then these fucking people, in commenting on my posts...proved my goddamned point with all the self-awareness of an old gray dog licking its ass on the Cathedral steps and I didn't even so much as have to do a damn thing.

"They weren't front and center until recently?"

No, bro, you just got told you could freak out on something and hate people and like somebody offered an addict free drugs...there you was.

I'm tired of this shit. Nobody has to listen to these fucking people. This is America.

I'm a United States Air Force veteran and I swore to defend the Constitution, which includes the separation of Church and State.

You want to know why these idiots like Russia so much?

It's because Putin allows the Russian Orthodox Church to do a bunch of performative "Christian" stuff while he builds Cathedrals memorializing the Red Army of the Soviet Union.

Meanwhile, religious observance rates in Russia remain pretty low, but Putin poses for the cameras with the Tobacco Patriarch and rails against the EU and homosexuality and liberal democracy in bits clearly contrived for an American Republican audience. 

And you can take all the time you need to think about that

That church with its bombastic militarized iconography? That is These Fucking People's idea of "Religion."

These fucking people don't want to be Americans, they'd rather be Slaves of the Caesars than free.

They want to try to have both the Cross of Christ and the Hammer and Sickle, knowing in the end they'll get nothing but the jackboot.

And they prefer that crap to America.

Because America-as-it-is demands that you be a citizen, not part of some bullshit social hierarchy of Aristocrat and Kulak, Master and Peasant and Serf or even "Party Member" and "Worker" where everybody "Knows Their Place."

Because even if what somebody's doing is just basic foolishness...which by the way was my view as a younger person being aware of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence...that's their right.

And an older me became aware that they did some real good work fighting against the AIDS crisis, giving out condoms, and raising awareness.

Stuff like that matters.

Because America, as a free country, demands that if you want a better country you be a better citizen.

Because God demands "Love Thy Neighbor" and...all too often overlooked "Help Thy Neighbor."

And don't you forget it, assholes.

It is necessary to investigate before legislating, but the line between investigating and persecuting is a very fine one and the junior Senator from Wisconsin has stepped over it repeatedly. His primary achievement has been in confusing the public mind as between the internal and the external threats of communism. We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men — not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate and to defend causes that were, for the moment, unpopular. This is no time for men who oppose Senator McCarthy's methods to keep silent, or for those who approve. We can deny our heritage and our history, but we cannot escape responsibility for the result. There is no way for a citizen of a republic to abdicate his responsibilities. As a nation we have come into our full inheritance at a tender age. We proclaim ourselves, as indeed we are, the defenders of freedom, wherever it continues to exist in the world, but we cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. The actions of the junior Senator from Wisconsin have caused alarm and dismay amongst our allies abroad, and given considerable comfort to our enemies.
