We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change. We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics. They will only grow louder and more dissonant in the weeks and months to come. We've been asked to pause for a reality check; we've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. For when we have faced down impossible odds; when we've been told we're not ready, or that we shouldn't try, or that we can't, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes We Can. ~Barack Obama
The last few days, starting with Trump, certain Republicans and Trump Supporters have been braying like jackasses about "Obamagate." The basic plot line here seems to be...correct me if I'm wrong here: "Deep State General Flynn Unmasking Something Something Gazpacho...SQUIRREL!"
Do not get me wrong, I am not going to hold back here: The basic underlying premise, the quiet part that these fucking people are about five minutes from saying out loud is that "We, as Republicans, believe it should be, or have been, a major scandal that a Black man was elected President of the United States." Five years ago I'd have credited the Republicans with the sense to never say that.
Now? I quite expect that one of these days, with everything in the toilet and it being his own damn fault, Trump is going to start dropping racial slurs live on TV, just for the five-point polling surge from cowed Republican cowards and dead-ender Redcaps.
It's the same bullshit that is why a website with the unintentionally ironic name of "Liberty hangout" gleefully tries to excuse the killing of a black man in Georgia by two motherfuckers that look like they should never have been allowed near a weapon. It's the same bullshit that Tea Party Joe Walsh, of all fucking people, points out that conservative talk radio is ignoring.
And as somebody else in the thread pointed out that's progress, five years ago they'd have celebrated the murder.

Yeah, sure, go ahead and make the election about Obama, dumbass, he's polling higher now than he was on January 20th of 2017. Seriously, do you think I'm voting for Biden because I want to see the blooper reel? Fuck no, I'm voting for him because he was Obama's vice president and he's the one person still on the field that shows some degree of competence, does that quite spell it out for you?
Yeah, go ahead and start talking shit about somebody that's got 60%-plus approval ratings you fucking orange moron. Fucking go for it. Nobody, and I mean nobody, right now is luckier than Republicans are that "I don't like you" is not a legally actionable offense in America.

Consensus, good governance, listening to the experts, working together...all went out the window and have stayed that way because these are things that experts, liberals, moderates, people of color, various professionals, even some moderate Republicans, tend to believe in. Ever notice how Trump and his supporters have even torn down every previous standard-bearer of conservatism and Republicanism that was still alive to be torn down?!
And this anti-Enlightenment crap very much got its start with the rise of conspiracy theories and racism when Obama ran for President and was cemented in place by the nomination of Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate. Conservatism has been openly awash in woo woo bullshit ever since. If liberals, moderates, or anybody outside the "Tribe" is for it or thought of it first, whatever it is, it must be bad and torn down at all costs because Bunga Bunga primitive tribalism mentality.
These people are not conservatives in any meaningful sense of what that word actually means. But at the same time, they get to claim the label because they've pushed everybody else out of conservatism.

In fact, the Republicans' response to most of what they've been preaching for the last 25 years being exposed as bullshit is to imply that calling it bullshit should be illegal, much less actual investigation, exposure and accountability. What they want is not mere power, but for all power in heaven and on Earth to be granted to them. They want to be gods. More to the point, this kind of shit is exactly the kind of "God is in us and around us and above us, we are Gods" belief that the Left Behind novels accused liberals of having. It's also exactly the kind of morally relativistic bullshit that I, as a Christian conservative Republican, was taught to be against all the way back in the 1980's and 1990's when I was the one learning this stuff and you could be a conservative or a Republican without also being a bigot or a nut.
"Obamagate" proves my whole premise of every word of "Left Behind Is A Lie." And it was all a lie and don't you forget it..
Unless, that is, unless it's Republicans who are...and were all along...the moral-relativist cult of personality "Global Community" people blindly following their silly, bumptious and preposterous Antichrist right into the Lake of Fire. Unless all this "End Times" crap was nothing more and nothing less than childish projection.
But let me tell ya, if that's what they are, if that's what this is, it makes so much more sense now.
Part Twelve.
Part Fourteen.
