Mystery America The Great (Left Behind Is A Lie, Part Ten)

It was during those long and lonely years that my hunger for the freedom of my own people became a hunger for the freedom of all people, white and black. I knew as well as I knew anything that the oppressor must be liberated just as surely as the oppressed. A man who takes away another man's freedom is a prisoner of hatred, he is locked behind the bars of prejudice and narrow-mindedness. I am not truly free if I am taking away someone else's freedom, just as surely as I am not free when my freedom is taken from me. The oppressed and the oppressor alike are robbed of their humanity. ~Nelson Mandela

Fucking Seriously?

Team Trump calls Michael Flynn their "Nelson Mandela."

*Glares in 'I fucking paid attention in the 1980's'*

Let me ask you a fucking question, peckerhead. In what way is Michael Flynn like Nelson Mandela? Did he fight against an unjust system both legally and illegally, go to prison for 27 years, become the symbol of a struggle against racism, get released, and then become president and the great unifying symbol of n nation long divided, and the father of the modern nation?

No? Okay, let's review.

Flynn, once an excellent intelligence officer, was promoted beyond his ability and then deservedly fired by Barack Obama. He then became a lobbyist for Russia and Turkey and failed to disclose this which per Federal law is a serious crime. He then was nominated to be Trump's national security advisor, still failed to disclose his affiliations, and then while he was at it gave important information to the Turkish government and ended up getting fired by Trump. Then, when the Mueller investigation happened, Flynn lied to the FBI, which is itself a crime, and then was arrested, charged, and pleaded guilty in part to avoid considerably more serious charges. Do I have all this right so far?

Flynn became the first of a considerable number of high-level grifters and traitors to be fired and then charged with crimes. How in the flying fuck is that anything like Nelson Mandela?

He's not. There is no "There" there for this comparison, except of course that we live in a country where a black dude can go jogging and get chased down and murdered by a couple of motherfucking rednecks who both look like their parents were related before they were married. Just like happened all the time in Apartheid South Africa and the segregated South before 1964 and the Civil Rights Act. And while I'm at it have any of these goddamned motherfucking inbred crackers learned one goddamned motherfucking thing since 1953?

Also, I'm sorry but if I was the gun store owner and either that angry-ass looking old white man or his butter-faced retarded-looking son had walked in my shop I'd have told either one of 'em to turn right around and walk back the fuck out because I wouldn't trust them with a goddamned squirt gun.

So I guess there's that, but it's not really a similarity that Flynn had anything to do with. But yeah, Team Trump, tell yourselves whatever you have to so you can sleep at night, I'm sure fear of the Death Star will keep the local systems in line. It worked so well in Star Wars.

Oh, wait...

And then here we have Dennis Prager of fake Facebook University fame debating the proper terminology for Black people, with neither any input from, nor sensitivity to what Black people might think about it, and if I had to guess he probably wouldn't understand why anybody would think that was racist.

These fucking people collectively have no more self-awareness than a dog licking its ass in the middle of the yard.

Okay, it's 2020. I do kind of 'get' annoyance at changing terminology to a small degree. In the last few years a lot of stuff has changed like that and the funny part is that conservatives seem completely unable to do a damn thing about social change. That said, the last time I ever heard the term "Colored" in a non-historical context was...well, in what's now a historical context and from somebody way older than Dennis Prager a damned long time ago. In those days when I last heard that word it was the days of M.C. Hammer and Paula Abdul and the Wall coming down and even Republicans believed in peace and were against Apartheid. In those days such words were and felt like they should be outdated curiosity, fit only to be laughed at. Seriously, before I watched that video I hadn't heard that word used to describe a Black person in over 30 years.

Holding on to stuff like that ain't fucking normal, and it takes real goddamned work, unless your thought process is chiseled onto clay tablets by neanderthals or something. You're telling me this dude can master enough technology to have a fake internet university, but he can't roll with, ya know, just how people fucking talk on a normal basis?!

I feel like there's something wrong with that. It's like the racist version of "Richard Nixon did nothing wrong." Thing is, Tricky Dick died in 1994, if it's well past time to get over Watergate and move on, isn't it equally past time to get over the decline and fall of the racial terminologies of the 1950's?

*REALITY GLARES BACK IN STUPIDEST POSSIBLE TIMELINE*

Oh, right, sorry. Yes, I know, there are people who haven't gotten over either one and that's part of the goddamned problem. IT'S 2020 YOU FUCKING MORONS!!!!

And frankly, I've fucking had it with people who haven't gotten over 1989, much less 1973, 1964 or even 1954. Life changes, every day, every year, doesn't anybody see that it's wrong to try to keep acting as if it is...or as if you want it to be...1953 when it not only isn't and can no longer be so? It seems to me that I remember hearing, largely from conservatives, that there was a great deal of injustice in those periods of time. Is it not, therefore, unjust even to the person who imagines that things were just great in 1953 to do so? Essentially, you're setting yourself up for disappointment and resentment day after day and you're the one doing this to yourself by cleaving to utterly outdated expectations of life? I remember standing there, at attention in dress uniform listening to several Tuskegee Airman talk about their experiences during a Black History Month presentation at Northern Michigan University in 1994, and wondering just how the fuck people could treat their own brothers in arms, their own neighbors, that way.

And here I sit, 26 years later and the kind of shit that those guys talked about going through in 1942 or 1950 is still happening. You know, it was a major scandal back in about 2007 that Barack Obama's Pastor had once said "God Damn America."

Why in the fuck that was, I don't know.

Why is that? Because so far as I can tell we either always have been or we have become a country that turns convenience, social status and the color of one's skin into no less of idols than the golden head from Raiders Of The Lost Ark and enables the people with the right mentality, the right politics, the right skin color and the right social class to literally believe they are gods against whose desire for a haircut or a Strawberry Margarita or to not see this or that kind of people in their neighborhood the lives of other human beings mean less than nothing by orders of magnitude.

Because we're a country where two inbred fucks that I wouldn't trust with a fucking steak knife can murder a guy in broad daylight on camera and it takes national pressure and the state getting involved for them to be arrested two months later, all because the guy they murdered was black.

But then, when something comes along to threaten this idolatrous worldview and whatever status these fools imagine they should have, the very same people who've spent decades preaching the value of belief in Christ and against moral relativism turn into fucking primitives shouting "Unga Bunga" and dancing around a fire with their spears waiting for the local witch doctor to tell them to go find some virgin to throw into the volcano to appease their primitive fire gods in the hope that the virus will go away.

It's like, years after I slid into it because it felt like what was natural to me, I find out that conservatism has turned into nothing but a bunch of lies and an unnatural pathology of classism and racism and the only reason this wasn't obvious before was that the previous leadership to one degree or another and plenty of communities on that side of the line resisted it.

Conservatism at this point is nothing but classism and racism dressed up in a red dress and some political slogans on the arm of an orange galoot that never deserved to fucking be there in the first place and you can tell him I fucking said that.

Do you have the slightest goddamned idea how much this pisses me off?!

And all this in the country that has been on the forefront of technology for its whole life, the country that invented nuclear weapons and put men on the moon. Yet 51 years after that event, when we're confronted with a virus that demands a scientific response, we're fucking reduced to the people in power seeing who they can try and sacrifice in a vain effort to save their stock portfolios?!

Yeah, God Damn America, alright, and I say that as a fucking white dude who used to be a conservative Christian. And God Damn Evangelicals right along with it. Ya'll are no less of idolaters than the people Moses caught worshiping the golden calf, and the worst part is, if you thought about it for five seconds you'd know it, too.

And let me tell you why;

This is why, this right here.

Some fake blonde ho-bag fake preacher in a nice white dress sitting there behind an official government podium in a secular country, with the residence of the President right on the front of it, sitting there trying to browbeat God as if she's some Karen at McDonald's yelling at the Latina behind the counter. Note she's not asking, her statements are pretty declarative. One way or another she's trying to manipulate God into waving some kind of magical Mojo stick and making the virus and the looming depression go away because she "declared" some kind of "supernatural turnaround" and she really, really believes that simply by making these words come out of her mouth, she can command God, the Creator of the infinite universe.

Who is God, really, Paula? Is it God, or is it you?

Is God on the throne, or is your Self on the throne?

And how in the fuck did my old secular ass think of this...and you didn't?

You know, I've met people from South Africa and Zimbabwe. You wanna have one hell of a conversation, get my friend Henry or his wife, Virginia, talking about Jesus. And those people don't talk like Paula White does.

And it isn't just that Paula White talks that way, it's that she does so in the service of a man who embodies the Seven Deadly Sins and who daily breaks the Ten Commandments, and even facing a viral threat of literally Biblical proportions and bungling every possible level of the crisis these people still have something like 77% support among white Evangelical Christians.

If there is such a thing as damnation, we are worthy of it, and that is why.

God is not stupid, and whoever you think you are, He does not answer to you.

That we have forgotten this is exactly why we're going to fall and what will happen will happen.

These fucking people don't care about you, they don't respect you, they all want to lie to you and steal everything they can from you, and then they want you to die and go to hell.

And we, as a people, through apathy and deviant belief systems and stupidity put these idolatrous, Biblical-level evil motherfuckers in power.

Actions have Consequences.

Does that fucking spell it out for you, or do I have to use smaller words?!

And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest. ~Revelation 15:1-4
