So, the other day Lizzo played a flute once owned by James Madison, and apparently "Conservatives"/racists are pretty damned upset about this. 

Well, too goddamned bad.

Probably 90% of these fucking people didn't know about Lizzo and 99% of them didn't know about that flute before the other day.

And for those alt-right Nazi basement dwellers complaining that this is some kind of ritualistic "desecration" of "their symbols" by some kind of "victorious revolution?" 

Well, two things; #1 If there was such a thing, you deserved to lose, you always deserved to lose and you were going to lose, so deal with it. And #2 You're telling on yourselves. Your "symbols" (other than racism, anyway) are never anything more than what you get an emotional reaction out of right now.

Constant reactionary behavior and the outrage-of-the-moment ain't the symbols you think they are, and your fake-highbrow critiques and fat-shaming still ain't big enough to hide your racism. The only reason anybody other than flutists or Lizzo fans is even talking about this is because Lizzo is Black.

And Lizzo is a classically trained flutist, by the way.

She has every right to play that flute, and honestly when I saw the video of her practicing in the Library of Congress reading-room, dressed in normal clothes, surrounded only by a few people, I think I was even more impressed by that than I was by her stage performance. She's good.

But of course these fucking people don't care about that.

What a joyless existence it must be, being unable to appreciate anything simply for itself, seeing every single thing through a multifaceted lens of class, politics, race and supposed religion. To see that, one only need to look at the difference between Kevin Sorbo's Twitter (and increasingly that of many other Republicans as well) vs. George Takei, Mark Hammill or even Tea Party Joe Walsh. 

Of course, it's the same reason "Christian" fiction is usually garbage. When you're concerned with hitting all the right notes according to some formula rather than being good at what you do, or even being entertaining or caring about your craft...of course it's going to suck. 

Perversely, for many this was the appeal of Trump at the beginning...he threw out the old script and just winged it. 

Now? Trump redefined what the formula is, and it works on some people because it conforms to their biases.

It turns out that nobody knew the old conservative line was bullshit (Largely intended to cover up greed and racism) than Republican voters did.

This crap works like magic on a certain type of person.

Trump just cleared away the fog and ran on (and governed on) straight appeals to greed and racism.)

It worked for his base. Others, not so much.

I mean, seriously, what's in it for anybody else besides racists and (effectively) wealthy thieves?

So, rather than change, rather than admit they were wrong or even rethink a losing wartime strategy in the case of the Kremlin, the Right's collective plan is to double down infinitely and forge ahead, hoping they can somehow Calvinball their way to victory.

It doesn't seem to be working.

These motherfuckers don't seem to care. As if they think there's some kind of golden parachute in the dictator business.

As I've said before, if these idiots think the Ukrainians have given them a bad time, wait until they start shit with the Poles, or the Baltic States, or the Finns...and that's aside from the fact that doing so brings USAFE and USAREUR into the equation automatically. Facing the US Air Force and US Army of the 21st century is going to go very badly for a Red Army that the Ukrainians have effectively blasted back into the 1960's.

Of course, the entire damned problem here is that because EU and US "Conservatives" rolled over for them so easily, the Russians think everybody else will do the same, they just have to figure out the right price, or find the right buttons to push, or something.

This is the whole damned problem with people who think in terms of formulas, or magic, or video games. In terms of reality, there's not really all that many magical woo woo shortcuts. 

Throwing bodies and money at a problem usually only works for awhile before people get tired of it.

And then the Russians framed this whole damned mess in a way that left the Ukrainians literally no choice but to keep on fighting, because if they didn't the Russians openly said "We're going to destroy your country, your culture, your history and your language." 

So of course the Ukrainians were going to have a bottomless well of willpower and will to fight. 

They have to, it's existential...not just for them but for much of the rest of the world, too...and they know it, and so long as they get the help and support that they need, they seem to not mind having this fight outsourced to them.

Even as it becomes increasingly clear that the US and EU are going to get dragged into it anyway. The attack on the Nord Stream pipeline is almost certainly a NATO Article V level event, and Putin just said he desires that conflict.

And in such conflict it seems as if the locus of power in such a fight has itself shifted East from France, Germany and the UK to the Baltic States, Poland, Turkey and Ukraine as well as former neutrals like Finland and Sweden. Not to mention who the National Security hawks are in America. Do I think this is going to have implications in and of itself? 

Yes, I do.

Eastern Europe was basically colonized by the Russians after World War II. I think they had enough of that shit.

And it's funny how it's the elites in a lot of the old colonial powers like the UK that have a soft spot (or maybe more properly a hard-on) for fascism.

They're perfectly fine with being slaves, so long as they get to be a better class of slave than some of the other slaves. I've literally been saying this of "Conservatives" since 2015.

Last week, I saw this. High School Seniors in East Baton Rouge, LA were told they were going to a job fair, and were instead shipped to a church for an anti-LGBT "Church service." This was done without the knowledge or permission of parents. The boys and girls were separated. The boys were forced into competitive "macho" acts for money...and then the girls were preached at about praying often and forgiving their rapists.

While one group was in the church, the other was left outside in the hot sun. Inside, students were hiding in bathrooms to get away from this shit.

And students, a fair number of them not yet old enough to vote, were promised food only if they filled out voter registrations handed out by Republican operatives.

Just a thought, but how the hell is any of this stuff...Christian?

Couple things:

#1 I don't give a shit what your cause is. If you have to lie about it, do things in secret, and make your pitch only to a literally-captive audience that you're also abusing...you are not righteous and your cause sucks.

#2 I care about right and wrong, and I don't care if I go to jail. So, if I lived there and one of these kids was my kid...I'm going to find out who's responsible, and they're going to get beat up.

Firing some motherfucker, lawsuits, etc. WON'T get the message across. It never, ever does. Remove the responsible person, they'll just try that shit somewhere else. 

Arrest them, lock them up, or whup they ass. If people will not know fear, shame, etc. and insist on deviant behavior and fanaticism, then they need to be punished one way or another until they learn how to conduct themselves.

And make them a public example. These are people who have no problem weaponizing guilt, fear and shame against others. Make them feel it their own damn selves. This shit is wrong, period.

Addendum: This is the exact same viewpoint I'd have had as a Christian, as a conservative, you name it.

Then yesterday, I saw this.

A Christian school in Jacksonville, Florida expelled an 8-year-old girl because her parents wouldn't let her take a bathtub selfie that was a "Homework assignment."

I mean...what the fuck???? Aren't these the same fucking people who routinely accuse others of being "groomers" and "pedophiles?"

This is an elementary school, not OnlyFans, and this is an eight-year-old girl, not some adult aspiring model or some shit. Bathtub selfies are generally thought of as softcore pornography. Again, what the fuck?

Even if other people were so, "It's Okay when we do it" isn't the winning defense you think it is, Christians.

So, basically, these fucking perverts want to force their religion on your kid, fuck them, and then teach them to forgive and pray for their abusers instead of seeking actual justice under real laws.

They want the flesh-pot rewards of power for themselves, nothing but empty piety and crying out to a god that does not answer for you.

If this is what American Christianity has become, then somebody needs to clean house, with a shotgun.

'Cause I'll tell you what, again, if it was somebody trying to get a 'bathtub selfie' of my kid or of any other kid that I care about or know and I found out about it...by the time I find out who's responsible and who's permitted this, you're likely going to be able to look all the way through some motherfuckers because I'm a blow some holes in them big enough to put a window in.

Because turning them in and letting the cops handle it might mean they get a good lawyer or some patriarchal religious asshole of a prosecutor lets them get away with it. Some things will just not suffice.

And it wasn't so long ago, that such was just a basic normal small-c conservative opinion and understanding of the world. Some things are just not done in civilized, normal society and that's that. 

It's nothing to do with laws or moral codices and everything to do with empathy and humanity. Some things are just wrong. It has ever and always been so and should continue to be so. Either you believe in God and/or that the universe has moral laws and a sense of right and wrong independent of Him...or you don't.

And yes, I still have enough Christian and conservative in me to think some things demand death. I don't even feel that way about normal criminals and murderers and shit though. 

But if you do things to people, like sexually abuse them, that would make a person's life worse than death...you should die. 

It should be known. You should become a cautionary tale to deter others. I've known way too many people of any, all, or no genders who've had to deal with sexual abuse...including in a church setting...to feel otherwise. And some of them, their pain won out and they're no longer with us.

That's a tragedy, and the kind of acts that cause it should be regarded as universally wrong.

Instead, modern Christianity condemns the victims and calls their suicides a sin. What the hell good is being alive if life is worse than death? These fuckers want to take away even that level of individual choice...because they can't be cruel to you or have power over you if you pull the plug.

Instead, over time, Christianity and "Conservatism" both became overtaken with the idea that right and wrong is defined by what the Church says, what their interpretation of "God" says or what the leader wants...as if such a system isn't immediately primed for abuse of every kind, followed by official protection of assorted bad actors.

Instead of being treated as the faith- and soul-destroying sins that they are, religious abuse and sexual abuse seem to be regarded as prizes, as rewards for power...as is the accumulation of obscene wealth at the expense of others...by too damned many people.

Didn't the Catholic church end up with two black eyes over this in the last few decades?? Didn't the Southern Baptist Convention just get smacked around by public opinion for the same?

When no less of a Baptist icon than Russel Moore calls it quits, maybe it's time, Evangelicals, to ask just what the fuck are we doing here? When the church or the convention is more concerned about accumulating data on abusers to protect itself from legal action than about protecting lives or souls or even virtue, you have a damned problem.

The ethic of checking things against the Word, developing an individual sense of right and wrong, and the important thing being that a "Christian" idea or two sticks, long-term, has been replaced by this cult-like idea that you have to buy the whole package, all the time. And when all else fails, the powerful promote...and get elected...illiterate, self-promoting goons who don't know any better, or they just don't care.

Faith, Justice, and Love mean nothing to these assholes. Greed and Ideology is All. 

Even...perhaps especially...when the contents can change instantly, can turn on a dime, on the whim of some person in Power...and most especially of all when those changes are harmful to people, and gratifying to some person deemed "Special" by the mob. All that is not forbidden is permitted. 

Up to and including that someone can have a bathtub selfie of your Tween daughter, apparently.

I'm just saying, I'm not sure that calling anti-bullying programs, diversity and kindness initiatives "Marxist" sends the message you think it does, Republicans.

Last week, at a rally with Eric Trump and Mike Flynn, Pastor Mark Burns called Democrats "Demonic" and "Demon-Possessed" and said they were "From the gates of hell."

I'm going to note here that the same people openly support Vladimir Putin, and now that more cities and towns in Ukraine are being liberated from Putin's neo-Soviet Army the Ukrainians are digging up massive numbers of bodies and finding all sorts of evidence of atrocities and mass murder. 

The Bible doesn't say shit about being a Democrat, but it goes all the way up into the Top Ten rules outlined therein in stating opposition to murder and harm inflicted on the undeserving.

Because of the whole Martha's Vineyard migrant scandal, Ron DeSantis succeeded in wrenching the news cycle away from Trump until today when the whole "Special Master" thing apparently blew up in TFG's face and Judge Dearie demanded evidence of document declassification, etc. on an expedited timetable and Team Trump refused to cooperate.

When what gets you back in the news is yet more extended self-immolation, after you just had your lunch eaten for five days straight by your most immediate competitor, that doesn't bode well for the future of this project, Donnie Boy.

Not that I expect either the creepy-religious-cultism or any of the rest of it to go away if Trump does.

In fact, I genuinely expect it will do nothing but get worse from here on out no matter what happens.

Because even as Trump bumbles from one legal fuckup to another and his sins become more and more apparent, thanks to groundwork laid by a whole bunch of Prosperity Gospel Liars and other "Christian" bullshitters during the Trump presidency, at the lower levels the Unga Bunga woo woo Pentecostal types have made serious inroads, most notably with Doug Mastriano in Pennsylvania. 

You could probably make the argument that this will fuse with Trumpism...but I doubt it, because the last thing those fucking people want is to have to share with anybody else, least of all anybody who doesn't play their games.

They might well let the two entities fuse...but then they'll take the whole thing away from him because Unga Bunga something something Gazpacho and no it doesn't have to make sense. I couldn't even tell you what their excuse will be, except it'll likely be something made up on the spur of the moment that happens to catch on.

And I'm going to warn you now, if you think Trump is a narcissistic douchebag, well these fucking people have millions more where he came from and some of them are demonstrably worse, not least because mental illness doesn't just run in these circles...it gallops like an Arabian horse with its tail on fire.

And they ALL think they should have unlimited Totalitarian Power, because Jesus or something.

But they're well advanced on the process of kicking Jesus Christ out of His own religion and replacing Him with anti-vaxxer woo and conspiracy theories...because no matter how harshly Fundamentalist or overrun with woo woo, Christianity as it has historically existed, serving a greater power, places limits on one's behavior and demands one think of others to some degree.

And these fucking people don't like that.

Apparently, today, Ron DeSantis shipped a bunch of Venezuelan migrants to Martha's Vineyard. Also, these people were in Texas, not Florida, but DeSatan is apparently trying to take credit for "Shipping migrants out of Florida."

Apparently, the MAGA logic here is that somehow, "Liberals" or whoever will see these people, feel instinctive revulsion or something something Gazpacho, and then decide to vote Republican to keep them out...or something. I don't know, I'm not flexible enough to fit my head up my own ass that I might see these fucking people's point of view.

And then the MAGA idiots got mad when the people of Martha's Vineyard #1 Came together to help the migrants (to the point where people volunteering to act as translators had to be turned away) #2 Rightfully, got mad at Republicans, and not the migrants, and #3 The MAGAs were dumb enough to repetitively try and lie about it anyway and they just got called out even more.

After yesterday's article, I thought maybe I was done with this particular topic. But apparently, Blowbert said more dumb shit in the same speech, and it pissed me off all over again.

Hoebert apparently doesn't know the difference between the word Wanton (Cruel, deliberate or excessive action) and the word WonTon (You know, the Chinese food item.)

Again, I'm sorry, but if you're getting your interpretation of the Lord's Word from this hood rat, you deserve what you're going to get and you deserve to get it good and hard.

It's not that she's ignorant or stupid that's the problem. It's that out of pride, she chooses to willfully remain so, and since she can't keep away from a stage and from talking stupid about religious matters, she's likewise choosing to willfully mislead others.

And perhaps more to the point, she's not getting laughed out of the room. People want to hear this shit.

And perhaps because she's more physically attractive than most of the dudes who spew angry, belligerent stupidity in various comment sections, Blowbert gets to be the poster girl for these fucking people.

And if you think all this dumb shit is about anything else other than that, meaning dimwitted goons getting to enjoy themselves at the expense of others or by causing pain to others, I can't help you and I'm not sure I want to try.

It's not so much that they don't really believe in Revelation as they think judgment and damnation only can happen to others.

And that is exactly the kind of thing that's why we're in American Revelation, and that would cause God to rain down fire.

And if Lauren Blowbert had as much familiarity with the Lord's Word as she does with talking stupid in front of a bunch of people who want they ears scratched, she'd know that.

If you don't want to go to hell, don't be one of these fucking people. It doesn't cost anything to not be a dick, and the Truth is also free, but you have to make the effort to look for it.

The difference is, these fucking people want you to pay them for their lies, and give them power over your life.

But too many people simply think finding the truth or making a decision is too much work.

But long experience tells me there's no Truth to be found in the mangled words of deceivers, idiots, and liars...only confusion. And that's what they want...for their own physical and temporal gains.

Ronald Reagan said we are spirits, not animals. I have to wonder how he would feel about how modern "Conservatism" makes people less than the sum of their parts and tells us that we are animals, not spirits.
