This is a nation where a large plurality of the population loudly claims to be Christian, Christianity is a vastly philosophically complex religion rooted in Greek and Middle Eastern thought. And half of our fucking people can't read, yo. Stop and think about that this Christmas, too. How do you even know what to Believe if you can't read the Lord's Word, let alone understand the concepts therein, seriously??
And then of course, FIFA (which has no business doing anything of the sort) gave Trump some kind of bullshit "Peace Prize." Our functionally-illiterate President, ladies and gentlemen, getting his narcissism sucked off by the largest sporting org on the planet.

You know, I'm old enough to remember when bullying, racism and stupidity were considered bad things and drew social condemnation from a majority of people.
I'm honestly very tired of bigotry of all kinds, blind faith in general and willful ignorance in particular.
But you know what I'm even more tired of? People making excuses for that shit. Worse, people trying to profit from that shit.
The day's going to come pretty soon when a lot of people get to see with their own eyes that a Black soldier can stop a bullet just as good as a White one, and that an immigrant doctor can keep them alive just as well as a native born one can, and that (yet again) we won't have a choice but to see that women can do almost all the same shit that men can do, while dealing with more bullshit from everybody just to get the job done.
And out there in real life, in the way that the Global Other Half has to live, inattention, laziness and willful stupidity gets people killed.
I've been trying to warn people for years that if the Right gets their wish and sparks off a Civil War, they're probably gonna lose because they're stupid, but one hell of a lot of America is gonna have to get over itself and its own bullshit just to fight and survive properly.
Maybe even just to survive, like at all.
Nobody, and I mean nobody has more contempt for "Conservative" White Folks than the Billionaires and Trump.
And the thing that scares me is there's millions of people who'd rather die than give up their bigotry, their bullshit, or their worship of wealth...even though they will never actually get anything for any of it.
I get it, relative status is a hell of a drug. But at the same time, one hell of a lot of these fucking people are cruising for that amounting to "Zero" as well.
Because people like Donald Trump and Elon Musk and Peter Theil can never have enough of anything, and they're pretty much cannibalizing this country.
And half of America can't even read the room.
Even if we don't, even if the fucking far-left got what they wanted and America became a Socialist country or some shit...at this point we'd be far more likely the depleted post-WWII UK than something like modern Denmark or Norway or even today's United Kingdom.
And the thing is, that's what These Fucking People want because honestly, Republicans seem to derive some kind of validation for their shitty worldview when everything is terrible.
And they're just fine with billionaires shoveling whole tiers of our standards of living into their pockets.
As long as Donald Trump or somebody like him gets to pretend to rule over ashes and ruins and cabinets full of skulls and they can be strung along with the fantasy of having their boot on somebody else's throat before they die.

I'm honestly starting to wonder if people were more knowledgeable in 1985, certainly they were held to higher standards.
You either believe in freedom or you don't.
But you have to know a thing or two to understand what freedom is much less appreciate it.
What good is being a consumerist simpleton if you can't even read the label to know what you're buying?
