That Leadeth To Destruction (Reason For The Season, Five.)

I saw this last night. 

Trump is demanding that he be installed as President and the Constitution, along with any laws or regulations he doesn't like, be "terminated."

And all this over the nonexistent Hunter Biden dick pic scandal...where then-private entities simply asked a privately-owned, corporate microblogging website to enforce their own Terms Of Service?

The First Amendment was never in play here.

Trump is not a conservative, in any way, shape, or form. Do you get it now?? 

But he sure has dragged a lot of Republicans down to his level with him.

Also, it's been two years now. If he's still stewing about this crap, dude doesn't need a political career. He needs a goddamned intervention. Not that people with personality disorders are usually very good about treatment but at least technically, somebody should care enough to make the effort.

(Yes, I realize that half the problem here is nobody really cares about Trump enough to say "Dude, you've got a problem.")

Something must be up, or maybe he's just really desperate for attention.

I'm here to tell you from personal experience that when people with personality disorders start having meltdowns this bad, abandoning the pretense of even trying to bullshit people, and just outright start demanding that they be given what they want...no matter how nonsensical...it means things aren't going well for them.

Now, here's the part that I don't get. There's people out there who'd let him have this shit.

How fucked up is that??

Maybe it's just me, and yeah I've been through this shit because of my ex-wife.

But for that reason I'll never understand why Republicans keep insisting on feeding the goddamned narcissist.

Trump is never going to be some kind of Conservative, Christian leader. He's never going to want to share the attention or the power or the money. He's Not. That. Guy.

And Donald Trump is sure as all hell not the Meme-God that some fucking people have tried to make him out to be, making pictures of him standing on tanks with .50 Caliber sniper rifles or with his head photoshopped onto Sly Stallone's body or improbably muscled and shooting a goddamned GAU-17/A Minigun. At its absolute lightest, that's 41 pounds of weapon burning through a whole shitload of 7.62mm ammunition with a muzzle velocity of 2,800 feet-per-second. King Kong couldn't shoot that shit without it being on some kind of a mounting! And Trump is just an old, out-of-shape fat guy. There's nothing really wrong with that. He's just not that guy that they keep trying to convince themselves he is.

Hell, he doesn't make any effort to claim he is, beyond generically claiming to know more about everything than anybody else.

And that doesn't even take into account Trump's demonstrable, public lack of basic intelligence or his atrocious personal conduct or his tendency to stick a knife in somebody else's back for any or no reason without warning.

"The Cruelty Is The Point" is not a way you can run a civilization. Not only that, but I have to say I've never known a Cruelty Is The Point person who was cool with the cruelty when it started being used on them.

Republicans, Trump is going to burn your shit down and you'll find that you've left yourselves with little to no defense against it.

If Trump would burn down the peaceful transfer of power, if he'd burn down the Constitution...he'd burn down America and he'd sure as hell burn down the Republican Party. Listen up, Republicans. It needs to be said; Donald Trump does not give a fuck about you and if he thinks he'd be amused by watching the pretty flames...or just gets angry and acts on poorly-controlled impulse...he would burn down the Republican Party in a hot minute.

And don't you forget it.

We're coming up on the holidays and the changing of the seasons, and soon enough, a new year.

You can choose, and start again. It's even symbolically a good time of the year for it.

But that's also going to require taking a stand, drawing a line in the sand and sticking to it. It's likely to require removing yourselves from the situation and it might even require voting for the other team for awhile and then starting over a few election cycles down the road.

And yes, it's going to require going back to the traditional Republican understanding that the Russians in general and people like Vladimir Putin in particular are the enemy.

Because that's what it's going to take not to be a pawn, or be used.

As somebody who had to cut a loved one with a personality disorder out of my life just to save my own damn sanity, I can't put it any more simply than this:

Republicans, if you don't cut Trump loose, or at least extricate yourselves individually from the situation, he's going to destroy you.

If you don't stop fucking around with the fascists, the racists, and the white nationalists, they will destroy you...because they hate you too.

And honestly there's some of y'all that will deserve it.

But some of you don't, and that's who I'm trying to reach.

If you want a better country, you have to be a better citizen. If you want the world to be better you have to make it that way. Trying to do shortcuts just gets you...Trump.

If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed and we will deserve it. ~Lindsey Graham.
