I saw this earlier.

"Jesus, guns and babies." Like, what the fuck kind of slogan is that? Kinder, Kuche, Kirche for a more well-armed age?

I'm tired of this whole idea that these "Christians" think they're some persecuted minority under siege from demons, vampires or zombies or something, where some combination of faith, firepower and higher rate of sexual reproduction is necessary to "Save the species" or some shit.

"We are the church and we run the state?" The Constitution and 240 years of America says different, bitch.

And all this pretending you're under existential threat to justify the fucked up shit you do won't change that. 

If this lady was shouting "Allah Akbar" and talking that way, she'd probably get shot.

This ain't the Terminator movies, lady, despite the efforts of AI scientists and such. And The Walking Dead is just a TV show, more to the point in none of these fictional worlds does religion ever really matter worth a damn. You can praise Jesus all you want, the zombies will still eat you.

Might be a message there.

We're perilously close, these last couple of years, to finding ourselves in some kind of apocalyptic situation where there ain't going to be no Jesus to save anybody. Of course, I realize that these motherfuckers think that achieving some transcendent state of pure Fascism is probably the same thing as Jesus, but no, it doesn't actually work like that. Not that these fucking people really care what's actually in the Bible, or anything like that.

We're even closer to that what with the whole Ukraine situation and the looming possibility that Putin might attack a NATO country, or even just continue to lose in Ukraine and resort to weapons of mass destruction. If these Christians think either that this will cause Jesus to show up and save them, or that it would lead to more people becoming Christians, they're on drugs.

And I keep seeing Western media people, American "Conservative" media talking heads, a British Marxist here and there, and lots of Republican politicians, essentially advocating for American (and therefore, Western) capitulation in the face of Russian aggression.

 Why??

The fucking Russians cannot even conquer Ukraine, so what in the hell could we possibly have to be afraid of?

Nothing, really, it's just that Putin gives These Fucking People a hard-on, for reasons that I don't really understand. Because if they ever believed what they said they did you would think they'd never get past "KGB Agent" (Although I think that's why the British Tankie likes him) but of course modern "Conservatism" isn't about conservative values, economic liberalization or free markets at all. 

That's so 1991.

It's about fear and hate and power nowadays, and it has no larger point than simple cruelty. Even greed, as a motivation, has fallen by the wayside for all except those at the very top of this shaky pyramid. 

And for all of their atavistic "Jesus, guns and babies" talk, basic survival or even continued existence appears to have fallen by the wayside as well, in favor of Something Something Gazpacho the Immortality of the White Race or some stupid bullshit.

If it hadn't, these people would not be supporting an enemy country that's led by a spy whose avowed goal is the destruction of our own.

Except that Anti-Americanism does in fact seem to be rabidly popular among "Conservatives" too.

These fuckers want Putin to be their ruler, and all the shit they say is so obviously a lie at this point that it would be funny if it wasn't threatening civilization.

The...and I use this term very loosely...best-case scenario is that these fucking people are weak-minded fools who really do believe all this contradictory bullshit. Because the worst-case scenario is that these people are psychotic manipulators who are actually trying to bring about the destruction of their own country, most likely because it doesn't suit their ideological proclivities, or simply because of racism.

And if that's the case it's no wonder that they'll bow down before the Hammer And Sickle. After all, their idealization of the Cross of Christ is to turn it into nothing more than a flaming lawn ornament.

We really do need to stop with this idolization of religion in general and Christianity in particular. You believe in god? So what? What are you doing with that belief? It says right there in the Bible, in the Book of James...that even the demons believe in God. So why do we idolize "Belief" at all?

A lot of it comes down to politicization of the concept, for one thing.

A problem with this, though, is that by definition American Nationalism (or Christian nationalism) and Russian Nationalism are by definition competing, ultimately hostile philosophies, even when it comes to more basic idea of White Nationalism...well, the Russian version of it is that if you ain't Russian, you just ain't going to be "White" enough. 

Even Republican extremists like the John Birch Society used to understand this shit.

And the Russians are coming right out and saying all this stuff, even as they unilaterally are trying to decide for the whole world that the Ukrainian people are not really a thing.

Does it occur to nobody that if they're allowed to do this, they'll do it again, and again, and again? After all, East Germany and Poland were once under the thrall of the Soviet Union, and France once had a sizeable enough Communist Party that there are still streets there named after Josef Stalin.

The whole damn point of the idea of Russkiy Mir is Russian domination of the world. What's to stop the Russians from eventually deciding all by their own damn selves that America as a nation does not really exist?

And here's the thing, Evangelicals, Republicans and other Putin stans...

You can put money on the fact that the Russian idea of Christianity, or "Conservatism" or whatever-the-fuck is not the same as yours, and that if they ever achieve the power they want, people like Vladimir Putin will find a way to make you a target, too.

So if it really was about preserving yourselves or your ability to not be "silenced" you'd be fighting against this shit too, just like the Evangelicals in Ukraine are.

But it's not, we see you. It's about power and that you think you'll profit from neo-Soviet Communism-with-the-cabbage-rations-stripped-out, from Putin, and from the destruction of the West.

And that's why nothing you ever said before matters now, why none of the old messaging or standards even still exist.

You could go back to that, if you wanted to. You might have to, if things keep going the way they are.

But you won't, if it comes to that. And it won't do you any damn good, because you live here too, not there. And you're a part of this society, not that one....and that's true whether you like it or not. 

Don't think the Russians don't know it, too. They're not your friends. You won't get a prize if they win, you'll get shot and your body thrown into a ditch along with the rest of us.

Believe it, and tremble.
