So Trump is apparently reduced to attempted Red-baiting of Kamala Harris now? (Seriously, look on Threads, Republicans are going all-in on this idiocy.)

Trump wants to Party Like It's 1989.

Specifically, about exactly 35 years ago, roughly August 18th, 1989. The day before the Pan-European Picnic, which is traditionally considered the start of the opening of the Iron Curtain.

Motherfucker, Communism hasn't been a thing since 1989 (And Trump's biggest ally is Putin, who's trying to bring that shit back!) I mean it, I'm serious, I'm 50 years old and you have to be my age for Communism to even have been a thing that might've affected your life. Hell, even the Chinese haven't really been Communists since the 1970's when they started privatizing agricultural production.

Right under that on my feed there's a post about how Project 2025 aims to use the military against Americans. (As if that wouldn't likely backfire rather spectacularly after a very short period of time. Our military is supposed to be apolitical and not deployed for domestic law enforcement and shit like that. I mean, seriously, if you serve this is part of your training.)

Trump doesn't want the United States Armed Forces, he wants an American version of the Red Army, subservient to The Party, and to himself since he basically is the Republican Party now.

Since Trump slithered down the Golden Escalator in 2015 it amazes me just how freaking Communist the Republican Party manages to sound. They're all about building walls and political purges and throwing people in Gulags...and making sure only top-ranking members of The Party have anything.

If I had to guess, there's a reason all these MAGA's are walking out of the Trump rallies.

Also, now idiot MAGA "Influencers" are trying to threaten Tim Walz.

I'm just sayin' I know a fair number of guys like that, and Tim Walz does not seem like a "Call The Cops" kind of guy. He seems like an "Oh, there's a dude threatening me, I'm a be answering the door with a shotgun for awhile." type of dude. Might let the cops know...but he's not going to depend on them. Tim seems like the kind of guy who pretty well understands that sometimes if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself.

Most of those kind of guys get old for a damn reason, the fact that he's a retired Army National Guard SNCO will only make it hurt more. I'm just sayin.' It's usually a bad idea to start shit with dudes like that. I'm not sure a soft-handed wannabe-political-rat-fucker like Jack Posobiec understands that. Given his life experience he should...but then he did get himself kicked out of the Navy and apparently he didn't learn much from the experience.

Sooner or later one of these idiots is gonna try and gin up a mob and all they're gonna get is an ass whuppin' from the person they was trying to go after.

It's very much starting to feel like Republicans are looking at the writing on the wall and thinking that the Party's Over.

They pushed too far, they pissed too many people off, the list goes on.

Now, They just want to make sure to get whatever hits in that they can before they go, and party it up a few more times before the World Ends.

In fact, I think what we'll see in the next couple of months is that doing those two things is literally all they care about. Oh, sure, they'll try something in November...or maybe January...but they also know it didn't work last time and they had control of the Executive Branch at that point.

Now they don't.

Plus, now we live in a world where Ukraine has successfully invaded Russia and all of Putin's bluster is yet again exposed as just so much bovine exhaust. About the only people trying to maintain Vlad's alleged aura of invincibility work for the New York Times.

The only people trying to prolong this bullshit are Republicans themselves, and the people who profit off of the crazy.

People are sick of this shit.

This Project 2025 shit is these fucking people's game plan somewhere no matter what happens in November, even if they get the kind of electoral beat-down it's looking like is coming, they'll try it in whatever Red States they can pull that shit off in, or in some secessionist enclave, which is probably gonna be on the small side if that's the case.

Attaching the words "Project" and a number to it just makes it sound official. The Russians do that with pretty much everything.

I saw this shit yesterday.

JD Vance of all fucking people, was bitching about "The Irish problem" in the 19th century.

I've read his book (which rang true because I have a fair amount of experience with Scots-Irish people from Appalachia, mostly from when I was a kid) and to be sure, I looked his ass up on Wikipedia. Like many people from Appalachia or who claim descent from that part of the country, JD Vance is Scots-Irish, which is exactly what I already suspected. 

Bitch, you wouldn't pass your own ethnic purity tests.

(For bonus points, he's also a goddamned Yale Law School graduate, just in case you wanna take a gander at the snipped post about how JD said "Professors are the enemy" and see just how much of a goddamn Blue Falcon this motherfucker really is...and if I had to guess, that's an insult to motherfuckers.)

And yeah, it'll come to that because as the Republican Party continues to lose to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, these weird fucks are going to start tearing each other apart over who's MAGA enough, who's "Republican" enough, and likely, who's White Enough.

Because the Republican dream-world is basically five rich old white guys sitting atop a mountain of skulls in a poisoned, ruined shithole of a world, a couple flunkies and/or lawyers, one slave who does all the work, one bad guy they blame everything on (who may or may not actually exist) and one woman they take turns sexually assaulting when they're not plotting to kill each other and steal each other's wealth...and they're all slowly dying from the toxins of the world they've destroyed.

But, they figure, the last one living gets to keep all the money, or something, never mind that it's real hard to spend money when you're dead.

At this point it's less American Revelation than slowly-dawning-on-everybody Self-inflicted Republican Damnation.

And the thing is, at this point there's a blood-trail of stupid ideas leading through this dark forest...from Anti-Communism and McCarthyism to the blind worship of Barry Goldwater and Richard Nixon to Reaganite Libertarianism and the Bush Doctrine that've led us to the Trump Cult. Trump basically is what these idiots have wanted since 1964 but didn't get 'cause all the leaders they elected who got above a certain level either had some level of morals or were smart enough to not talk stupid in public. 

And conservatives, broadly speaking, are the modern heirs to the Platonic conceit that ideas are somehow better than people. They don't care that their ideas are shit

I mean, honestly given show shitty the ideology has turned out there's probably something to be said for the death of Republican pragmatism.  And on that point, I'm deadly serious.

Because even as they've got Trump out there babbling nonsensically as his mind fails and his narcissism convinces what's left of his brain that he's Jesus Christ, JD Vance is out there howling at the moon with all this crazy shit. And there's a certain segment of "Conservatism" that loves him for it, mostly a few billionaires, some internet trolls, what younger people they do have (all twelve of them, pretty much) and the occasional YouTube truck screamer.

Democrats, the general public and even a lot of Republicans are not impressed. Seriously, Republicans for Harris is a thing.

I'm pretty sure anybody up to Mitt Romney in 2012 at the least would have kept something like Project 2025 under lock and key with like maybe two or three people in the Heritage Foundation (let alone the campaign!) knowing all the details and made sure that shit didn't get out until after the election...and at that, only if they won by a big-enough margin to indicate a broad mandate from the People.

These fucking people have been talking about that Project 2025 shit for months, openly, all but cackling evilly and twirling ostentatious mustaches while doing it. They wanna take away everything from your Mom's Medicare and Social Security to the local dog park to NOAA and the National Weather Service (which is what most of our weather apps run off of!) to your neighbor's Veteran's benefits and women's rights in general. I mean, I get it, Republicans think government should not help anybody but the very rich, that it should be nothing but a terror in the lives of the common people, rule by force, basically...so that everybody will hate government as much as they do. 

(Also, historically, this doesn't work out well as a governing philosophy or for the people who did it and it tends to end in bloody revolutions, Guillotines, and heads in baskets.)

There usually comes a point where the number of people you've pissed off exceeds the number of bullets in the magazines of your soldiers' rifles and at that point, you're fucked...especially when the public is also armed. So don't think a theoretical Project 2026 wouldn't include getting rid of the 2nd Amendment, for example. It's not Gun Control when Republicans do it anymore than it's the Mark Of The Beast when Republicans do it (Project 2027) nor is it selling out America and bowing down to the Hammer and Sickle when Republicans do it either (Project 2028) etc. etc. 

Until you get to the point where it's not "One World Government" if it's "Conservative" and Republicans get to be petty Commissars taking orders from Moscow in it and whatever project number they assign that bullshit to appoints every Republican elected official as a Zampolit in The Party for life.

Then, guess what? They'll call it whatever they want and own it and strut around talking about it and if you don't like it they'll ship you off to whatever Martian iron-mining penal colony run by some descendant of Elon Musk they have by then if you say anything about it.

And there'll be gullible sons of bitches who bow down and rationalize at every step of the way until the Leopards Eat Their Faces, Too. 

Trump is just a Donkey Show-ass distraction from all this shit.

They want the Power. It looks like they aren't gonna get it this time, but they'll keep trying until by pure Law of Averages they get back in at some point. They don't care if it takes a hundred years

It's getting so if you want to preserve your life as it is (You know, the conservative point of view, literally things as they are) the Republican Party has to be crushed and MAGA beaten and mocked and shamed out of existence, and Trump needs to be thrown in prison and kept there until he dies just to prove the point to potential future traitors.

But the thing is, Trump is just an opportunist, a symptom. It's fundamentally the ostensibly normie Republicans (and 1990's style Religious Nuts at that) who came up with Project 2025.

This shit is downloadable as a PDF from their website and liberal organizations have analyzed the fuck out of it and equally openly strategized against it and warned the public about it. There was a front-page article in my local paper this morning...which is what happens when you plan on getting rid of an agency that's a small but important part of a community. 

(And apparently that word still means something.)

The actual number of NOAA workers here is pretty small, but their facility (which is across the river from where I live) supports everything from the organization's workboats to local tour boats to the occasional visiting Coast Guard ship and many community events every summer.

Even if you're the most strident White Christian Evangelical imaginable, even if you're rich, Project 2025 and its ilk don't help you. The whole thing is a recipe for economic, governmental and social chaos, and ultimately for the disintegration of the United States. 

Why? Because while we might be, as Ronald Reagan said, a country that has a government rather than the other way around, our government absolutely does provide all sorts of things that people depend on, a lot of that shit is what holds our society together. You think most small towns up here...who have big populations of retirees on Social Security...would survive without that stuff?? And Project 2025 exists to fuck all that up...because ideologues don't care...and don't tell me they'd stop there, either.

Hell, I have the PDF and a couple of summaries and plan on writing about Project 2025 myself after I start working my way through it. 

I mean, Jesus Christ! What the fuck is even wrong with these fucking people??

I mean, aside from the fact that they're addicted to being miserable bastards and that they sacralize meanness of soul and miserly capitalism?

Immanentizing The Eschaton (American Revelation XVII, Sixteen.)

 Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and the overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races here in this ancient Holy Land, the House of Abraham, Muhammad, and all the other Prophets of the Holy Scriptures. For the past week, I have been utterly speechless and spellbound by the graciousness I see displayed all around me by people of all colors...

You may be shocked by these words coming from me. But on this pilgrimage, what I have seen, and experienced, has forced me to rearrange much of my thought-patterns previously held, and to toss aside some of my previous conclusions. This was not too difficult for me. Despite my firm convictions, I have always been a man who tries to face facts, and to accept the reality of life as new experience and new knowledge unfolds it. I have always kept an open mind, which necessary to the flexibility that must go hand in hand with every form of intelligent search for truth.

During the past eleven days here in the Muslim world, I have eaten from the same plate, drunk from the same glass, and slept in the same bed (or on the same rug) -- while praying to the same God -- with fellow Muslims, whose eyes were the bluest of blue, whose hair was the blondest of blond, and whose skin was the whitest of white. And in the words and in the actions and in the deeds of the "white" Muslims, I felt the same sincerity that I felt among the black African Muslims of Nigeria, Sudan, and Ghana. We were truly all the same (brothers) -- because their belief in one God had removed the "white" from their minds, the 'white' from their behavior, and the 'white' from their attitude. I could see from this, that perhaps if white Americans could accept the Oneness of God, then perhaps, too, they could accept in reality the Oneness of Man -- and cease to measure, and hinder, and harm others in terms of their "differences" in color.

With racism plaguing America like an incurable cancer, the so-called "Christian" white American heart should be more receptive to a proven solution to such a destructive problem. Perhaps it could be in time to save America from imminent disaster -- the same destruction brought upon Germany by racism that eventually destroyed the Germans themselves.

At this point, what the "Conservatives" are putting out there is straight-up racism, there's no kinder way to put it, nor any that would be properly accurate.

But, as usual, it's not just that.

It's that these motherfuckers look at a diverse, urban crowd of people and automatically think that's bad, and they look at uniform sameness where nobody's outside and think that's an automatic good.

And ten bucks says they imagine all the people in the houses glued to screens watching people like Donald Trump and Elon Musk, instead of, ya know, going outside and touching grass or something. That's getting to be the thing that's really disturbing me about this Trump shit. Nobody's touching grass, nobody goes outside unless it's some Trump-related thing or (maybe) to go to work or some shit. If they're not living in pants-shitting fear of the rest of us, they think they're too good to interact with us.

Worse. None of these fucking people ever turn it off, and they're all getting wrapped way too tight. That's on purpose, by the way.

At this point these motherfuckers are basically telegraphing contempt, if not outright hatred for all people who aren't adult, allegedly-Christian, rich, straight White males with a specific kind of right-wing beliefs. No, being merely-conservative or even far-right but not fascist isn't good enough anymore. 

And they never turn the hate off, either. These fucking people are getting addicted to that shit.

You have to take the White Pill, and chase it down with bootleg Russian vodka out of a plastic jug. I guess? (Or maybe it's the Orange Pill?) I mean, Jesus Christ what's wrong with these fucking people at this point??

They've taken their ridiculous metaphor of The Matrix and started actually believing it...and they think they're all Agent Smith, and that Agent Smith was The Good Guy.

In fact, I'd argue we're probably going to need a new word for this fucking shit, and the less popular they get, the more they lose...the worse they will become, and the more extreme their actions will be.

And it's no longer so much that they've created a Christ-less Christianity...it's that very thing wasn't enough so now they're making a religion of conspiracy theories, fear and hate...and they're becoming extremely religious about it.

And now we've got Elon Muskrat saying that Nukes are no big deal. Now, here's the thing. I'm a United States Air Force veteran, I was a Security Policeman who served in a Bomb Wing and in the Security Forces group for a Missile Wing and all I'm even going to say about that is that I was trained to literally treat every damn thing about that duty as if it was a serious matter.

Please, do yourself and the world a favor and think about where the fuck these people are going, mentally. So far as I can tell, they're a Death Cult with a Death Wish who thinks everybody else is by nature impure and not worth allowing to exist...unless it's for their personal sexual gratification.

Yeah, that's what Kirk Cameron means when he starts talking about the rest of us, even those Christians he deems insufficiently Christian (which is pretty much all of them) becoming drag queens and strippers. 

Yes, they sexualize the shit out of anybody they consider "Evil" but they'll sure want a taste before they kill us, think about that for a second.

And it's not for nothing, that I've said for years that if these nuts ever get their glorious revolution...a lot of these guys never learned the difference between a rifle and their gun, and they'll go charging into battle with their pants at half-mast and their hands on their dicks because in their heads they don't know the damn difference.

If they decide to start a Civil War when Trump loses these idiots are gonna make the Russian Army (which can't even defend its own country, now, since the Ukrainians have effectively counter-invaded Kursk Oblast) look like the 24th Mechanized Infantry in Desert Storm. Like, about the only thing their rebel army will be any good for is committing war crimes against unarmed civilians and stealing shit.

I logged into Facebook today because a friend of mine got a new ferret and I saw...goddamn but the few Republicans left on my feed are losing their shit.

Yep, right now Republicans are trying to cope with finding out that they long ago lost whatever control over the rest of us that they thought they had...that they made no effort to keep, because I guess they always thought they'd have it, or some shit.

They've got nothing.

And they're not even trying to hide that destroying every aspect of America that they can reach is the goal. They want revenge for losing that power that they thought they had. Fuck, they were bragging about it until they caught a bunch of pushback from the public! Hell, there was a bit about Project 2025...straight reporting, even, with plenty of calling that shit out...on the front page of today's Detroit News/Free Press.

Here's the thing though.

Check the response by another former roommate (and ex-girlfriend) of mine to my Facebook repost from a couple days ago. K's fucking thrilled that where she lives now there's free school lunches plus assistance in the summer time.

And yeah, she was Never Trump back in 2016 but this lady at least used to be a Republican. It's not just she's glad to have this stuff for herself and her daughter...she'll fight to protect it, too. Hey, I didn't like voting Democratic the first few times either, but it was what I had to do to not get fucked over.

I mean, fuck, it's a presidential election year and I've seen damn few new Trump signs around...not just that, on closer inspection they aren't "Trump/Vance" signs, they're just "Trump" signs.

It's not even that Republicans are "Low Energy" or even "Weird" so much as simple reality of what these fucking people have become...not just because of Trump, but they were that way before, too...is starting to set in with the general public. Republicans are assholes.

And they thought they were gonna win, so they ran on being assholes.

The simple reality of things is that most Americans aren't bothered by gay people in the least. We don't think everything outside of a narrow range of activities is perversion and Sin...and frankly most of us think that kind of view of life is boring and weird.

Most Americans...even those of us who know what all the shit means...don't really care if Tim Walz retired as an E-8 or an E-9 (Because yes, you can be promoted into a rank and then lose it if you don't complete certain qualifications which generally come after said promotion...and yes, I did NCO school) or that he retired before his unit deployed to Iraq because the dude already had 24 years in. He had life plans (like running for Congress) and wanted to spend more time with his kids and shit. I don't have kids but for fuck's sake I can understand that!

Seriously, people are people. Let them be human, we all have shortcomings. Nobody can or wants to step up all the time, every time...not for long, anyway, and you certainly can lose the ability to do so. That's why you have to be able to unbend, you have to have some joy in your life, and so on. You have to be able to see the purpose of stuff like, ya know, dog parks.

I'm tired of Republicans disingenuously holding others to impossible standards while extending infinite forgiveness to their own. That's literally not what the purpose of any of this shit is, and it's something that Jesus himself called out and said not to do.

And the thing is, how many of themselves are they running straight into the ground just so they can elevate Trump to be some kind of a pretend god?? Bro, I've read Revelation...I know how that ends and I'm not a born-again anything.

As I've mentioned a time or two on here, mostly years ago now, before I had ferrets I had dogs. Odie and Snowman, pretty much the Idiot Schnauzer Brothers, but the boys were both very good dogs.

I worked third shift all of both of their lives (I got them about four years apart, and they both lived to be about 14.) Dogs want walks, but dogs also like to not be on a leash all the time, the better to, you know...dog. Both of the apartment complexes I lived in, down in Mount Pleasant, had dog parks.

Halfway through my time down there, the city got a dog park. Dog parks were absolutely essential to helping my boys live their best life. In point of fact, I was one of the people who contributed to the fund to build the municipal dog park. I got a T-shirt for it, still have it, in fact.

And also, starting in about November-December of 2012 I was dealing with arthritis. You have no idea, after that, how much easier dog parks made my life. Yeah, when I lived in the trailer park my roommate would cheerfully help me with walking the dogs, or they had their chain in the yard...but still, if I was going to town and it wasn't hot or I wasn't going to be leaving them in the truck for too long, it was easy enough to just take the boys and go to the dog park. And it was little things like that, that made the life if the urban terrier worth living. They both had pretty good lives, too. 

I saw this last night, Donald Trump's Project 2025 has...of all things...abolishing dog parks as a policy plank. Just in case you ever believed that Republicans ever really wanted to get government out of your life. Motherfuckers don't just wanna control your life and make you miserable...they wanna shit all over your dog's day, too. 

In the summer of 2017 I found Snowman flopping around in the yard on his rope, he'd had a stroke and had to be put to sleep, At least I was able to get it done that day, so he didn't suffer. In May of 2020, Odie started having issues, I had a choice of two vet appointments and took the second one because it was at least on payday. He deteriorated very fast, and it was enough to make me wish I'd taken the first one. It turned out that he had cancer. My roommate had to help me take him to the vet.

It was fully two months after he was gone before I adapted to that dog-sized hole in my routine, but I'm kind of glad they're gone if this is how Republicans wanna treat dogs, much less dog owners like me. Dogs don't deserve this bullshit.

Fuck these motherfuckers.

And more than that, I find their rationalization that dog parks are somehow "Anti-child" ridiculous on the face of it...and not just because I've seen a hell of a lot of kids playing with a hell of a lot of dogs at the dog park...my own dogs had their kid friends too.

The people who come up with bullshit like that tend to have unseemly obsessions with birth rates and female fertility...and for that matter ages of consent both in America and other countries, as if they spank the monkey to the idea of being Lords ruling over serfs while having huge harems of (White) women and girls, so as to grow themselves some sort of new "Master Race." (As if they're not all complete fucking losers themselves.)

You'll also note that these are the same creepy ass weird motherfuckers who are against free school lunches (or education for non-elites at all!) not to mention against any steps to protect children from gun violence or limit the ability of violent mentally ill people to obtain semi-automatic rifles. So no, they don't give a good goddamn about kids except for how they can use them as a wedge issue to wreck other people's shit and suck all the joy out of your life. Seriously, if you wanna be miserable, have at it. It's a free country, but I don't have to, and I won't, not for your ego. Fuck you.

Like seriously who the fuck wants to live like that, and what's even the goddamn point??

Why do these fucking people want to be afraid and angry and miserable all the time?? I get that they want justifications to do terrible shit...but ya know I lived through the Reagan years and I served in the military in the 1990's and I remember the early aughts well enough...I mean, shit, I'm divorced

You can justify or plot plenty of bad shit without ritualistically giving up your own freedom and train-wrecking yourself in the name of immanentizing some kind of shitty right-wing eschaton.

It has nothing to do with God or religion, it's all about ideology and Power for their own sakes, and if you think these assholes wouldn't make their own Mark Of The Beast and make people take it, you're wrong. These motherfuckers made me start believing in Revelation a long time ago.

Meanwhile these motherfuckers want to get rid of everything from contraception and dog parks to mortgages, the National Weather Service and women's rights...for no better reason than to be shitty to other people and make it so only the very rich can afford to do anything, ever. Like does it ever occur to these assholes that Republican policies are already a non-zero factor in why less people are having children?? Who can afford it?? 

(Also who the fuck thinks 90% of us didn't grow up using the same bathrooms as female relatives-and thus being exposed to stuff like tampons-simply because we only had one bathroom in the house?)

But it's not just the kids...Republicans nowadays want everybody's life...even their own...to be as nasty, brutish and short as possible simply because they think it proves some kind of ideological point that exists only in their own fucking heads. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if these assholes thought having a cat was somehow subversive just because Ukrainian soldiers posing with cats became a meme.

And of course JD Vance seems to have it out for "Cat Ladies" for some reason anyway. I don't fucking get it...or maybe I just don't want to.

I mean, the basic idea of conservatism as I was taught it could pretty well be summed up as erring in favor of individual rights, but at the same time, if enough people want to have a dog park then we'll have one. For fuck's sake it's called living in a civilized society!

And yeah, I get it, Republicans don't wanna do that.

Of course, I get it, some of these fucking people are against any public good that's not specifically for the rich, or filtered through ideology or religion...no matter how small or even what it is. It's not about lower taxes, at least not anymore...it's about cruelty as ideology and a mania for control. It's about the peculiar combination of savagery, selfishness and servility that's come to define modern Republicans.

They'd be fine with being slaves, so long as they were a better class of slaves than some of the other slaves, or some shit.

And I'm tired of it. I'm not the only one, either.

This is America and nobody has to put up with your bullshit, your hate, your perversities or your various weird hang-ups, and I'm gonna be honest, I'm old enough to remember when some of the shit I've seen Republicans say lately would've got a person beat up...by Republicans.
