I just saw this, apparently Andrew Tate is (Surprise, surprise) taking the side of Hamas in the ongoing war. 

Now I'm not sure that the Palestinians, from the most fanatical Hamas terrorist on down to the average schmuck who's just trying to survive, would want his support or for somebody like Andrew Tate to take their side. Like, one gets the vibe that Mr. Small Dick Energy would be as happy to abuse, rape and traffic a Palestinian woman as he would any other...no doubt justifying such by his alleged conversion to Islam awhile back, or some shit.

But as with so much of this fucking bullshit, what anybody wants aside from the bloated ego that decides to do it is pretty much irrelevant.

To make matters worse, apparently Tate said this shit in an argument with Ben Shapiro (Just for utility's sake I'm going to at least hope Ben Shapiro represents the pro-Israel side in this dispute. I could be wrong. I'm absolutely not going looking for this shit) And I'm like...what the fuck?

Just sayin' it quite looks to me like Antivaxxer bullshit and/or the addiction to instant outrage is at least somebody's criteria for making foreign policy decisions and I don't know about you, but that scares the shit out of me.

Because if making real-world, international-events decisions based on conspiracy theories catches on anywhere...we're fucked.

Yes I realize things like (previous, assuming now outgoing) Evangelical Christian support for Israel was itself dishonest in its reasoning...because they could never have done it had their actual Anti-Semitic and destructive reasons (They believed the Jews had to possess Jerusalem, but would then be destroyed in the Apocalypse) been known to the general public. 

But ya know, lots of people can be religious without actually advocating for genocide or the destruction of whole nations in real life.

And I'd still argue that whole issue actually is the root of a lot of the problems in Israel, especially concerning extremism. 

Why do I say that? 

Because I can tell you, for a fact, from having read their books (and each will write polemics in support of the other!) that the Christian extremists and the Jewish extremists egg each other on, feed off of each other, cheat off each other's homework and generally do about everything short of jacking each other off in a gay bathhouse in Tel Aviv late on a Sunday night.

I mean, in 1997 I literally read a book written by an Orthodox Israeli Rabbi that was in support of the kind of Christian Nationalism then championed by James Dobson and Tom DeLay...who I, even being a conservative Baptist at the time, generally recognized as slime-balls and didn't pay too much attention to.

And it's all dishonest fuck fuck games and they all know it, but as long as money changes hands with a wink and a nudge and political power is maintained, it's Okay.

Like, seriously, would you trust guys like Bibi Netanyahu or Mike Pompeo to be honest about much of anything?? Mike Pompeo sold Afghanistan to the Taliban for pocket change!

And then we wonder why, especially online these days, everything is soaked with hate??

And here's the thing. Apparently, the previous Evangelical End Times narrative has been discovered to have not been hateful enough.

Left Behind is a lie, but it was not a big enough or mean enough lie.

I have to wonder just what kind of hateful, narrow-minded small world would be enough for these sacks of shit, but I don't really want to know the answer to that too badly.

Because the first thing on pretty much every Republican who's still in the club is "How can we use this mess in Israel to smear Democrats" followed closely by "How can we use this, zero-sum, to cut off aid to other people" and if they're allowed to do that here, they'll keep doing it until nobody gets anything but old rich white dudes and themselves.

And they absolutely do not give a shit about the poor guy who was stuck fighting for ten hours straight, much less the two little kids he was protecting.

And that's true whether that guy is in Israel or Ukraine.

But, apparently what happened is that Iran (and isn't Iran supposed to be these people's public enemy #1?) and Russia supported Hamas, and "Conservatives" thus have decided Putin backs the Palestinians...so the Far-right changed sides, instantly. Also the Tankies are right on up there, but that'd probably be another post. (Seriously, don't go check that shit out on Blue-Sky unless you want to get very angry.)

And then Democrats mostly supported Israel and mostly denounced Hamas. Yes, a few pointed out the shitty behavior of many Israelis toward Palestinians, but what antipathy there was was generally aimed at Israel's government, not its people or its troops. (And for the record, the Israelis are pretty pissed at Bibi, too, because apparently the Egyptians warned them that something was up and they blew it off.)

So in a matter of a day or two, supporting Israel became "Something that Liberals do" and thus anathema to the Antivaxxer, Conspiracy-Theory-Addicted, Perpetual Outrage Right.

And I'm like, what the fuck?? Adults don't make decisions this way! Or at least, anybody with a brain in their head doesn't.

I'm sorry, but I come from the ethos of "Never Leave A Man Down" and "Leave No One Behind" and you don't abandon your bros just because something bad happens to them.

If you want a better country, be a better citizen. If you want a better world, be a better person.
